Vegan-friendly, No hassle

I ordered vegetable fried rice, no egg, add tofu. Egg is not mentioned in the description, but long experience has taught me that most Chinese restaurant automatically include egg in their fried rice. The dish was somewhat bland, but the added veggies (broccoli, zucchini, and carrots) seemed fresh-cut and not frozen. The tofu was nicely cubed and fried with that nice outer texture and a soft inside. I think the upcharge for adding the tofu was ~$3. They threw in an accidentally vegan fortune cookie, too!

They are takeout-only because of Covid-19, and the cashier wore her mask.

For a steak and potatoes town that has very few vegan options, I was quite satisfied with the no-hassle vibe for this special order.

I was by myself, so only ordered the one item. Next time I’ll try their veggie chow neon/chow fun, but would need to ask about the noodles.

T'was Happy

Driving through the vast countryside of Oregon and California we were worried about vegan friendly spots. Then we came to Happy Garden. We sat down and were given complimentary edamame, a vegan delight. Our server was amazing, knew what was vegan, and gave us another serving of that delicious edamame joking "oh vegans love this stuff". My partner and I shared an eggplant dish and a broccoli dish. Both so good. Will come again if I'm in the area.

Pros: Service, Cheap, Good food

Cons: None
