Vietnamese cuisine, almost entire menu is vegan and the food is EXCELLENT!!
Read moreLots of vegan meat substitutes you don't normally see: calimari, shrimp, fish fillet, and duck! The duck was extraordinary with perfect flavor match and excellent texture, chewed like real meat.
Family run restaurant, very nice and roomy inside, plenty of parking.
Pros: almost entire menu is vegan, food is EXCELLENT!!, unusual vegan items: duck perfect flavor and chew, family run, nice and roomy inside, easy parking
Cons: noting worth mentioning

Best boba in Bay Area and excellent Vietnamese food - Edit
The Vietnamese family who runs this place closed their previous establishment, Mint & Basil in South San Jose, and opened Happy Flower around June 2023. Many of the same great dishes are still on the menu, along with some new food and lots of boba drinks. Absolutely fantastic pho, banh mi, and so much more. Would come more often if it was closer to home. The location is near many business parks so hopefully they get a good lunch crowd. Love this place!

Hidden Gem - Edit
This really is a tucked away, hidden little gem of a restaurant! We stopped in on a weekend as this was on my "to try" list and it was on the way back, and it didn't disappoint!
Read moreI had the Beyond Beef pho and my husband got the eggplant and tofu Saigon Sandwich (which is basically a banh mi). I will probably try to figure out how to add more mushrooms, because the mushrooms in the soup were king oyster mushrooms, a favorite of mine! The broth was flavorful and exactly what I wanted, and it came with flat rice noodles which I also prefer (where a lot of pho uses vermicelli). Husband really loved the sandwich, and it was huge, so he took home what he wasn't able to eat in a box because he wasn't going to abandon it (and wasn't going to let me have a bite, LOL). We also got jasmine milk tea with pearls, and while the tea was good (not overly sweet), the pearls were softer than I like, so I will probably go without or pick a different topping next time.
The location itself is actually pretty spacious (and has outdoor seating to boot) and I love the giant Buddha carving you see when you enter the restaurant. The music playing after we ordered happened to be a piano piece my husband was learning at the time (piano rendition of "Town with a View of the Sea" from Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service), which was a fun coincidence, and I think it was all piano versions of music from Ghibli movies while we were there😄The workers are quiet, but seem friendly, and it seems you go up to the counter to pay after you're done.
We're definitely going to be going back when we get another good opportunity for it!
Pros: Delicious, Large Portions, Good Value
Cons: Not Near Much Else

So good… - Edit
This is one of the best restaurants I’ve tried in the area. While the restaurant aesthetics are understated, the food is amazing. I am a huge fan of their chick’n- both in the banh mi sandwich and orange chick’n. The Thai Iced Tea was similarly fantastic.

Happy Flower Power - Edit
I enjoyed what I ordered which was the papaya salad and Cali pho. Portions were big and the pho had a good amount of vegetables. I'll be back to try a few more dishes that caught my eye.

good food, good portions - Edit
Almost all vegan, don't really know why they don't just go fully vegan.
Read moreHad the regular pho which was very flavourful, had at least 3 kinds of tofu/meat which were all really good. Could have done with a few veggies though.
The Saigon Sandwich was also really good; I had the version with the 'pork belly' which added a nice bit of chewiness.
Service was fast, and portion sizes large for the price. Vegan options are mostly labelled on the menu, but not always completely clear I found.
Cons: not fully vegan

Very wow! - Edit
I only ordered tofu spring rolls to-go, but they were delicious and unlike most other spring rolls I’ve had! They had a great texture with a little crunch. The sauce was a spicy mango sauce. Very good!

Good chinese/ vietnamese fusion food - Edit
Like any good asian place, they have a huge variety of plant based options which is so liberating. I believe they are mostly vegan but just have a few vegetarian options. We had the crispy tofu, Malaysian noodles and Vegan flan for dessert. Everything was good. Would definitely go back here.
Read moreWent here again and had the Saigon sandwich (banh mi) and regular pho. Loved them both. Do plan on going here again, so will keep adding to the reviews :)

Amazing food, so happy we stopped here - Edit
We came to stop here traveling from Sonoma to LA. We were so pleased that we did stop at Happy Flower. The food was a great price and tasted so fresh and healthy. We had Hawaiian sweet and sour tofu & garlic chikn noodles with tofu & mushrooms. The portions were huge. The dishes were fantastic. Staff lovely. The mango lemonade had pieces of mango in it & was very refreshing. Awesome 10/10
