Great taro burgers - Edit
The veggie (but really vegan) taro burgers were delicious. The taro hummus was nice but not the most outstanding. Just be very clear with the staff that vegan means no chicken (gulp!) and no cheese (argh!) upon ordering. When we went there seemed to have been some confusion at one point!

Loved the burger!! - Edit
My boyfriend and I ordered the taro burger which was really good! I enjoyed mine he thought it was a little too mushy. I was bummed to find out they didn't serve fries anymore AND they were out of the taro smoothie. The good news is that they're open most days so I'll have another chance to get one 😊

All taro, all the time - Edit
Glad to have another place that had vegan options. Got the taro veggie burger and taro hummus with chips. The burger was a bit messy to eat. It did the job but wasn't my favorite, it was a little bland. I'd definitely recommend getting the taro hummus on the burger to add more flavor. The taro hummus and chips were tasty.

vegan fail, burger came with feta - Edit
Specifically asked if the veggie taro burger was vegan and was told that it was. They offer Swiss cheese for a charge and no mention of cheese in the standard burger. It came with globs of feta. They were nice about refunding and apologized. I’ll give them another try someday but triple confirm that there’s no cheese added.

We had the taro burger (I liked it, my partner did not), the taro hummus (which we both liked), and the awesome shake (which I kept all to myself...Very yummy).

Stopped here with my family and ordered four of the vegan taro burgers. Love to see an item listed with the word "vegan" on the menu. Great food. Recommended and would eat here again. Very well priced too!

not much aloha going on here - Edit
Our guide book stated the hours were until 5, so imagine our surprise when we made the trip at 3, only to find them closing. Their hours must have changed, so if you are planning on a smoothie from here to tide you over, double check the hours! The girl was literally closing the front of the truck and couldn't care less that we would be glad to get smoothies. I found that to be the general attitude of those on Kauai - "oh well". So, we were really excited to try the local flair but did not get the opportunity when we were in the area. Understand that the rating is from the experience (or lack thereof) and not the product.

Delightful outdoor dining - Edit
This food truck uses taro in all their offerings. It provides a vegetarian taro burger, which can be made vegan with the substitution on a corn tortilla for the bun. The taro hummus is also vegan. We had several of their smoothies, which were all great. The flavors vary daily. We had lunch here twice, and were very pleased with our meals. We also got a kulolo, made from taro and coconut milk as a delicious dessert. There are picnic tables for seating, with canvas covering for sun and rain protection. Dining here is very comfortable. The numerous Red Junglefowl add a local touch. Website at http://www.hanaleitaro.com/FindUs.html
