Very nice!

This place was great! Very friendly staff and nice food :)
It's a great way to try all sorts of Korean dishes without the fear of any animal products!
Price was also really fair, and the place was really easy to find (just note that it's downstairs).

Good experience

For 13.000 Won we received a filling and freshly prepared meal. The scallion pancake, the soup and the kimchi were especially tasty. Most of the vegetables have been delicious, too. We didn't like the bitter gourd and some of the greens, although I guess they were well prepared, but just not the kind of vegetables we enjoy.😉The owner seemed to be a bit grumpy at the start, but was very nice in the end. Would come back!

Very nice

Very nice buffet for 13000 Won, lots of side dishes. Might be especially interesting if you want to try lots of different korean dishes. Staff is very nice, doesn't speak english though. Still since buffet is an easy concept it is not a problem. Loved it there, 5 stars clearly deserved.

Pros: Lots of stuff to try

So delicious

This is my favourite vegan spot in Seoul. All the dishes are very tasty and full of flavour. I love the soup and the sprouted peanuts (!!!) especially. The bosses are very lovely people and very kind hearted. Thank you for a great meal.

Wow!

I went with very low expectations from the average reviews I’d read and walked out on cloud vegan. I was totally humbled and inspired by the chef’s ability to compliment her array of simple Korean dishes in a very pure, respectful and healthy manner. And they had brown rice! Who has brown rice in Korea? I’m going back tomorrow. Fantastic.

Pros: It’s all vegan, so you can just relax., It’s not oily fried fake meat., It’s non sectarian, so you don’t feel weird.

Cons: Blink and you’ll miss the entrance.

Great buffet! Soup and red bean porridge to start, followed by a selection of different veggies to try, rice, tofu, jelly, kimchi and the best pancakes ever. Tea included.

Tasty!

This was the first buffet-style vegan place I had ever been to, and it was delightful! Buffets are dangerous for me--I was so overwhelmed by all of the options that of course, I went back for thirds and got terribly, terribly full.

They had a huge variety of salads, kimchee pancakes, two kinds of rice, and a very, very yummy soup.

I only wish that they had more variety of dishes aside from vegetable-based salads--a mock meat, or a noodle dish, or an interesting tofu dish would have been nice. But it felt very fresh and healthy, and as mentioned, I did still get very full!

I also wish the owners were a bit more friendly. They struck me as a tad stand-offish.

Great value for money

It is a short walk from Anguk station. Quite a big selection of veggies to choose from, two types of rices, salads and soup. The owners speak a bit of English.

Simple but tasty

A simple 100% vegan buffet for 13000 won. The food is almost entirely very Korean, so it's a good place to try traditional cuisine without worrying about non-vegan ingredients. What I didn't like is the interior which is rather dark and gloomy, and the fact that they serve no desserts.

Pros: Good value, traditional food

Cons: Gloomy interior, no desserts

Veggie buffet

The food isn't any fine dining, 5-star buffet, but it's all whole foods - unprocessed and without heavy seasoning. For 13,000 KRW, you can to have a veggie buffet with around 8 different main dishes (mainly leaf greens and root vegetables), 2 different kinds of rice, a soup, usually some kind of porridge, pickled veggies, steamed tofu, acorn jelly, and korean pancake. They also have apple slices for dessert. The place is in the basement, and it's not usually crowded or loud. Nice owners/staff who always make you fresh pancakes and serve it to you warm. Great place to have a super healthy buffet that you can eat to your tummy's content!

Pros: Plantbased & whole foods, No heavy seasoning/spices, Good value for meal

Cons: might be bland for some, variety can be limited

Good experience.

Good wasn’t incredible but for only 13.000 won very good. Anything was homemade, authentic and fresh. I liked the variety of healthy sides and the pancakes most. Staff is friendly. The Restaurant is in the underground and the interior is very simple - so I do not recommend it for romantic dates.

Pros: All vegan. , Homemade food. , Fair prize.

One of the surviving vegan restaurants in the area

I have lived in Seoul for over 11 years and frequented this place once or twice every year. The restaurant itself just celebrated its 13th anniversary last year. The menu changes daily and per others' description, the minute you sit down, they serve you a bowl of gruel/prridge, veg stew/soup, and a cup of tea. The rests are up to you. There are always 2 kinds of rice served.

The place is mostly quiet but there are occasions when it is filled with people, so please don't let that quietness deter you from going there.

Good unsalty veg food but I don't know what was it

Just a suggestion. I doubt the owner reads this but I also said them. There should be description of the food items of the buffet in Korean and English. At least the name but preferably a brief explanation, too.

Pros: Vegan buffet, Cheap, Unsalty

Cons: Little English spoken, Names of the food items not written

Simple and delicious food at an affordable price!

Finding Han Gwa Chae was very easy thanks to the billboard that was put outside. By the time we found a place to sit in there, the couple (who are the owners of the restaurant) immediately served us tea, a rice porridge, a spicy stew and some scrumptious savory pancake. The pancake had some sort of green thing that may be from the scrub, but we just let it pass since it's so good!

The place feels much like a cafeteria, and as much as we were delighted with the wide array of options to choose from, we were unsettled with the fact that there were no music playing in the background. To add, we were the only ones who ate in that restaurant throughout the whole hour, so the atmosphere really felt awkward. The couple knows basic English and were friendly enough. They introduced to us various vegetables that were unknown to us - such as the apple mint and the peanut sprouts.

Their food variety is very simple and reminds me a lot of simple home cooking. It did not take long for us to get full due to the abundance of vegetables offered!

I am disheartened about the fact that we were the only ones who ate during dinner, and I hope it doesn't close down because there's too few vegan and vegetarian restaurants already! Furthermore, from the previous comments/researches, this restaurant also supports small local organic farms by buying their produce and make simple dishes out of them.

With all of these in mind, despite the unsettling atmosphere and the weird scrub in the pancake, I would go back to South Korea one day just to eat their simple, homely food!

Pros: Wide variety of foods, Reasonably priced, Supports small, local organic farms

Cons: No background music, Cafeteria atmosphere, Weird scrub found in the pancake
