Plentiful vegan options - Edit
A beautiful, cozy cafe by the waterfront with plentiful vegan options. It’s in the APA hotel building but they also have their own entrance from the outside / back. Staff is friendly, food is delicious, and the vibe is quiet and peaceful.

Good for photos - Edit
It’s instagrammable but the food itself is bland. I had the soy burger and green smoothie. The food is healthy and everything was fresh, but it’s healthy to the point where the smoothie wasn’t good tasting (e.g. no added sugar and no sweet fruits added). The burger came with fries but they weren’t fries, more like undercooked home fries.

Great Breakfast Spot - Edit
Went here several times for breakfast as I was staying in the attached hotel. Vegan options are clearly marked and it seemed like everything in the deli cabinet was vegan.
Read moreHighly recommend the tofu quiche, I had it everyday! I think the standard breakfast set is usually vegan by default (two deli sides and some toast or rice) but good to confirm.

skip the coffee - Edit
I wish they had more vegan milk options, all they offered was soy milk. I ordered a soy latte, and was disappointed. My cup was only half filled with barely any soy milk.

Lovely Morning - Edit
What a lovely place to eat brunch by the water. The cafe has many labeled vegan things on the menu, including three different bagel sandwiches, ramen, a burger, and salad. They also have a little market table set up with eco-friendly goods and fresh vegetables. We had the burger and a bagel sandwich, apple ginger lemon tea, and seasonal tea. The seasonal tea especially was delicious!

A hidden gem - Edit
Looking for a great vegan burger in Yokohama? Look no further than Haishop Cafe.
Haishop Cafe can be found inside the APA Hotel building, 5 minutes from Bashamichi station. It’s a small cafe with high ceilings and large windows, situated right on the river that focuses on sustainability and raising awareness of social justice issues.
Vegan options are clearly marked, and the menu is bilingual. We decided to try the vegan ramen, soy meat burger, and onigiri.
Each of the three items were surprisingly, uncommonly good. The onigiri was served warm and tasted and smelled like hojicha. We had never even heard of hojicha rice before, but it was delicious!
The vegan ramen (actually tantanmen) was another winner. Creamy and spicy, with thick noodles. But the standout for me was the burger. It had a really meaty patty, topped with mayo, tomato, and avocado. I especially appreciated how the bun was a little crusty, kind of like a baguette. This meant that the bun didn’t get soggy at the end. The fries were delicious too. YUM!
Haishop Cafe is a real winner, with delicious food, friendly staff, and a nice location. You can even enjoy your food outside, overlooking the river. Definitely worth a visit.
Pros: Delicious food, Reasonably priced , Friendly staff
Cons: No vegan dessert (…yet?)

Sustainable cafe close to the canal with vegan options - Edit
Great place for sitting outdoors in the shade on a warm summer day. Inside they have a small farmers market selection as well as some other sustainably sourced items. The menu has burgers, salads and bagel sandwiches, smoothies, coffee, tea options. I went for the avocado tomato bagel option and loved the texture of the bagel. Se staff members speak fluent English as well.
