Buzzing Vegan Food Market - Edit
A lovely selection of vendors offering savoury and sweet food and drinks. It was not too busy, no queues and plenty of places to sit and eat. We chose to order from 'Big V' - cooked to order and delicious! We also bough cupcakes to take home from 'The London Cupcake Company' - Yummy!

Best place to eat on Saturdays! - Edit
I attended the original Christmas vegan market and attend as many monthly and now weekly markets as I am in town for. Details and vendors list can be found on the market’s Facebook Event page, https://www.facebook.com/events/286479558503437/, and in Fat Gay Vegan’s posts, http://fatgayvegan.com/hackney-downs-vegan-market/. There are regular vendors that I always buy from and many stalls to choose from. Come with an appetite and maybe some containers to take away treats you can’t eat right away. At one recent market, there were nut cheeses, raw chocolate, burgers, savoury pies (a new steak-and-cheez one from Young Vegans), cookies, croissants and other baked goods, latkes, soup, beer and more. Sometimes there are vendors of non-food items like candles, clothing and crafts. Everything is vegan, of course!

Awesome market - Edit
So great to have so many vegan stalls in one place and independent businesses to support. Well worth a little wander around, especially when dealing with a hangover! Great grub and atmosphere from fellow vegans/veggies!

This is now our regular Saturday treat! - Edit
We love this market, we've been going regularly since it was a monthly affair, and now everything Saturday begins with a - slightly guilty - acknowledgment that this will probably be the source of our lunch.
Read moreIt's never let me down, the stalls change quite often - though there are a handful of regulars such as BigV, Young Vegans and Temple Of Seitan, but there's usually some exciting new treats to be had as well.
On this visit we had the Tofish burger by Itis Vegan and the weekend special pie from Young Vegans, as well as a couple of cakes from Vegan Delice. What a perfect combo that was!
It's also the place where we first got a taste of vegan Baileys, which immediately made its way onto our Christmas list!
Sometimes the range isn't super extensive, and if it's a nice day it can get very busy, but it's a market, it's changeable, that's part of the appeal and I hope it long remains a fixture of our Saturday schedule.
Pros: Good regular stalls, Nice variety of stalls, Friendly atmosphere

Okay, not fantastic - Edit
Considering this is an all-vegan market I thought it would be a bit better - but there were not a huge amount of options - you're kind of better off going to Camden market and ignoring the omni vendors. In fairness I still think this place is new and finding it's feet.
Read moreI got the ramen (super good, and gf) and a Young Vegans pie. Very very good. The V Burger line was insane but people seemed to like it.
The desert stands were nice and the people working there super friendly. Lots of free samples. The Spanish lady selling cookies was a highlight for me - and the middle eastern sweets too. The cashew cheese stall was awesome.
Pros: Certain vendors, Free samples, Lots of (outdoor) seating
Cons: Limited stalls currently, Short opening hours

amazing food!! - Edit
Love this place, make sure u don’t visit with a full tummy! They have everything! Cakes, donuts, fried chicken, mac n cheese plus more. Spent most of the day in a food coma. It’s so nice not having to check if things are vegan.

fabulous! - Edit
I'm so happy this is in Hackney. I've been twice now - an excellent line up of london's best vegan vendors both times and a really vibrant atmosphere. It's on the third Saturday of every month; bring cash.
