So many options and the menu was marked for vegetarian or vegan clearly. All dishes were very flavorful.

One of our favorite places - Edit
For my husband and me, Habesha is one of our favorites. We always order the same thing: the large (for two) veggie combo. It's delicious and filling; we bring almost half of it home to heat up the next day. The price is very reasonable. And the proprieter is super-friendly and helpful. There's soft music in the background, not so loud that it inhibits conversation (a pet peeve of mine in so many restaurants these days).

Five Stars! - Edit
The staff here was so knowledgeable and kind, they even gave us recommendations on what items to get. They also have a little market inside with lots of spices and some vegan options. I definitely advise coming with a group as they serve a ton of food. I absolutely loved the meal, every one of the dishes were delicious but in different ways, I think my favorite was the spicy lentils.

Plant Based Meat - Edit
I love this type of food and make my partner eat it often even though he is not the biggest fan. I'm working hard to convince my family to try it as well. I don't think he loves the communal style dish and that you eat it with your hands, for those that don't know, it's not nearly as messy as you would imagine. It always has vegetarian friendly options and seems like more of an event meal than most places to me. It does seem like a healthier option than a lot of other places as well, we probably all need more beans and veggies in our lives.
Read moreI heard that they were one of the first places to offer plant based meat and put it on my to do list, knowing that I had to seek this out. I haven't heard of any other places offering this locally. I was so excited to try plant based tibs. I got the Full Habesha Plant Based Beef (Vegan) Combo. It was a little pricey for 28$, but did say it could feed 2, which means some for me for now and some for me for later. We also had our first experience with mitmita, which added the saltiness I often feel my Ethiopian food is missing. I really liked the spinach and collard greens. I do admit I don't love the injera here as much as at some other places.
This place is unique in that it also sells a lot of goods. I appreciated the ability to browse while I waited for my food and ended up taking home some dry lentils that I'm hoping will transform into a delicious soup.
Pros: plant based meat, huge meal, store to browse at while you wait
Cons: it's not my fav injera

Can’t wait to come back - Edit
We got the full Habesha vegan combo with plant-based beef. Everything was so good but the Shiro and collards were my favorite. We will definitely be back. I’d love to try their vegan ful medames.

Excellent! - Edit
The food here is delicious. Very clearly marked vegan (and vegetarian) options and lots of them, super friendly owners. It’s small, and just the couple who own the place running it so patience is beneficial when it is busy. It’s worth the wait!

Delicious - Edit
This is my go to local Ethiopian restaurant. I like that the veg options are labeled clearly on the menu and they also carry baked vegan goods! I get the veggie platter and it's so much food that I have plenty of leftovers for another day. I also like the 100% teff njira (bread) because it has a stronger flavor, no wheat flour, and healthier.

I’m on an Ethiopian food kick - Edit
After having some delicious Ethiopian food in the DC area, I decided to try the fare in my town. This place did not disappoint and I will likely be back unless I find a better place. I’m on a quest to try all the Ethiopian restaurants in my area to locate the one that will get all of my business.
Read moreI ordered the veggie platter and 1 sambusa ( I wanted more but they were out of veggie ones). The platter came with plenty of injera and everything tasted great. I don’t know the name for everything but I really enjoyed the red lentils (maybe red lentil wot?) and the collard greens.
Overall, if you’re looking for good Ethiopian food, here it is.
Pros: Plenty of options

My first post-COVID restaurant meal -- a real treat! - Edit
My Seattle-based omni friend and I (east coast-based longtime vegan) had a delicious and filling meal here -- sharing the Veggie Combo with Injera and each adding a bowl of lentil soup. The staff made us feel very welcome, too! Post-COVID, this was my first trip and first restaurant sit-down meal -- and it was a real treat!

Great Ethiopian Food! - Edit
They have vegan options, including a full vegan tray and a vegan sandwich. Food is great, they do takeout right now. Their little market sells spices and sauces too!
