So Many Veg Options! - Edit
H-Mart is a chain, but it is still my favorite grocer. Vegans, H-mart has a wide variety of options for you! You can find many things, including rice, noodles (fresh and dry), kimchi, tofu, other vegan proteins, plant milk (they have fresh soy milk near the tofu section… it’s delicious), frozen goods (sweet and savory), rice cakes, spices, sauces, ramen, etc. The produce section is wonderful and often cheaper than other stores. You can also find fruits and some veggies that are either hard to find or more expensive at American grocers. I love the frozen section and have found vegan dumplings, buns, bread, scallion pancakes, glutinous rice balls, taiyaki, japchae, etc. Some options are labeled, while many are accidental. If you have never been before, it may seem intimidating at first, but it is an excellent stop! I only wish the food court had vegan options…
Read moreWarning: there is a fish/sea animal counter in the back and a meat section in a corner. It is pretty easy to avoid as most of the vegan stuff is in other parts of the store.
