Excellent Sunday roast and amazing service - Edit
We went to Grow for the Sunday roast and the Sunday evening DJ. The staff were very accommodating, allowing us to pre-order to receive our roasts at the of the roast time window.
Read moreThe 2 vegan roasts were a butternut squash and lentil wellington and spiced sweet potato halves with freeka. Both were excellent, in particular the sweet potato was spiced so well.
We went in the winter, and would definitely return in the summer to make the most of the canalside location.

Disappointingly small vegan breakfast thrown onto a small stainless steel plate - Edit
Lovely lady with a good sense of humour came up to us and explained how their vegan breakfast was “different” and “the way we do it” and not like the others.
Read moreI didn’t expect the outcome of that to be that it was boring, and small, and presented on a dish most commonly used by Indian restaurants for one of many dishes that make up a whole meal , not just the main event itself.
When I paid in advance at the bar I was told it was all not for profit with any profits going to paying musicians as they are a live music venue. Well that’s all fine and dandy and I fully support it but I was just there to eat vegan 🌱 breakfast & read the paper on a Sunday and the mission statement lecture should come after I’ve been blown away by the all round product.
The proof is in the pudding

I’ve been here a few times and service is always good. Live music sometimes which is great! Menu changes regularly.

Eco friendly, mostly vegan, music and drums and a great view! - Edit
Had a great afternoon at Gro yesterday!! Gro is right on the canal in Hackney, about 20 minutes walk from Stratford and a couple of minutes walk from Hackney Wick station. It’s got a lovely view of the canal, music, a live drummer and excellent choices of vegan wine and food!! All very healthy! Would definitely recommend it’s got a really relaxed but fun vibe!! Excellent for a sunny afternoon!!

Fantastic place! - Edit
Spent a lovely Saturday afternoon here with my young family. Great location. Loads of plant-based food options and pretty much all the drinks were vegan too. We had the vegan meze platter and it was fabulous. Decent amount for 2 adults to share for £16. Will be heading back soon!
