Cosy breakfast option - Edit
Grød's classic porridge with caramel sauce, fresh apple and almonds was absolutely delicious; a warming cosy start to our day in Copenhagen. Their small portion is more than enough, and coffee was good.

Porridge and Bowls - Edit
Grød is a danish chain of restaurants which started offering porridge with different toppings and has now also smoothie bowls, savoury bowls with grains as well as salads. Several of them are vegan or can be made vegan.
Read moreWe tried a porridge with different toppings and a salad bowl with barley fritters, hummus and pee purée. To drink we had a carrot and a beetroot smoothie. Everything was really good!
There are different locations in Copenhagen. It’s a good option for a healthy and yummie snack!
Pros: Many vegan options , Healthy snack, Several locations
Cons: Pricey

Warm and comforting - Edit
If porridge is your comfort food, definitely try GRØD. I tried small "Make your own" oatmeal, which consist of base oatmeal cooked in oatmilk and water and you can choose 3 toppings, even the "premium" ones (which are normally more expensive) are included in the price. I chose strawberries, almond butter and cocoa nibs (unfortunately, they were out of chocolate chips, but that can happen). I also tried some organic tea :)
Read moreThe serving size for the price was completely alright I'd say. Even the "small size" bowl was very filling and the amount of topping was also generous in my opinion. The only thing was that the porridge was a bit more salty, than I'm used to, but still OK.
Pros: Big portion size, very filling, Comfort food :)
Cons: The porridge base was a bit more salty

Amazing food! - Edit
We visited the Grød in Vesterbro and the food was delicious. We had the mushroom barley-otto bowl and the asparagus risotto and the flavour of both was gorgeous. The portions were generous, the ingredients felt high-quality, and we would definitely go back. We also had a rhubarb lemonade and an iced matcha latte with oat milk and the drink sizes were really big too and both lovely. Highly recommend! It didn’t feel too expensive compared to some prices in Copenhagen.

Limited vegan options - Edit
Wanting something vegan without cacao nibs we were left with a few options. We had a juice, chia pudding and a self combined porridge.
Read moreAll was tasty but portions are small for the price. Especially the chia was not that filling and would have been nice with a bit more fruit. The porridge however was filling especially combined with peanut butter.
Our housemates make better porridge😉with many vegan toppings.

Nothing but AMAZING - Edit
We were out eating in Copenhagen last night.
Read moreWe chose to go to Grød on Vesterbrogade. We arrived approximately one hour before closing time.
It was not super busy, a couple sat at a table and ate their dinner, next to them a woman who sat there with her food and studied her phone, it seemed like all three of them had been there before.
For us, it was the first time, we also admit that we had slightly high expectations.
At the counter, Agnes took our order and answers our questions.
It all seemed pretty delicious, so we chose to order “Grøddeller” (veggi balls made with porridge) and “Daal Bowl” for sharing.
We find the cozy corner table, and it does not take long before the food is ready and is served. At the same time, we also get a small bowl of pickled red onions to top our Daal Bowl up with.
Yes we had a bit high expectations for the food ……. Were they redeemed - YES AND MORE !!!
The food we were served was simply so delicious and tasted great !!
If you have not tried the Grøddeller then it's about time !!
And yes, have you not been to GRØD - then it's about time too!!
Heads up to Agnes and her team, they just made a Friday night in Copenhagen even better!
Pros: Most of their menu can be turned into vegan, Great staff, Nice interior

Nice porrigde - Edit
GRØD both serves some really nice oat-porridge, and also chia porridge, bowls, a couple of stews and a quite good "Daal Bowl", which I will recommend.
Read moreMost of the porridges are vegan, but most of their other dishes contains dairy and/or meat. With GRØD's concept, I think that they should go all vegan, as it will be easy since porridge are vegan as default.
Another downside is that they are quite expensive, considering that porridge normal is really cheap.
But my final verdict is that if you want a easy porridge meal for breakfast or lunch, a Daal Bowl for dinner, or want to be inspired to new porridge recipes in your own kitchen, GRØD is worth a visit.

Simple comfort food - Edit
I ordered a build your own porridge (size small) which was 55 I believe and came with three toppings of your choice. There were lots of vegan items on their breakfast and lunch menu which was nice to see. Prices were okay by Copenhagen standards, the staff were friendly and the service pretty quick. I also ordered a chai latte and it was much larger than I expected, which was very nice. The two items came out to 90 dkr.
