Good choice of vegan food and friendly staff - Edit
We visited Gro on a very busy lunchtime but staff managed to find us a table quickly. Rather than a vegan menu, Gro has a list of vegan ingredients that you can include in any dish. Unfortunately I was brought the wrong food, but the problem was quickly rectified and staff were incredibly apologetic. Good portion size, and we also got cakes to take away which were absolutely delicious.

Delicious food, badly run - Edit
The food itself was delicious, the menu is very customisable and they adapted a special to be vegan on request with a lot of thought. Unfortunately I won't be back as I waited well over an hour for my food and the manager seemed to think this was completely reasonable and was quite rude to me when I politely raised this. They're definitely prioritising takeaways which means it's loud and slow if you want to sit in

Good food but a bad experience - Edit
There was a 30-40 min wait for a table when we arrived. This was fine, we got a coffee and waited nearby though it was longer than they predicted. Once we arrived it took 10mins to order, nearly another 10mins for our water to arrive and over an hour in total from sitting down to having food. People next to us were getting food quicker so after 40mins we politely asked what was happening. A waitress was answering us and being completely nice about it when the manager leaned over and abruptly told us it was on the way and then said something else to us which we didn’t catch because she was already walking away. It was quite rude.
Read moreWhen we did get food it was lovely. Which was great because it was now nearly two hours since we first arrived so we were incredibly hungry. They adapted a special well to be vegan and the toastie was great. We had cake too which was also slow but very nice.
It’s nicely decorated but I didn’t find it a nice place to be. They are very busy with takeaway orders so there was always a lot of people crowded around. It was quite loud with the number of people, music, the coffee machine and coffee orders being shouted out.
Overall I’d not bother going back, whilst the food was good, the experience was bad.
