Wonderful natural market with plenty of vegan options

I had only been to Door County once before many years ago, but was so happy to find that Greens N Grains was still open. I encourage all vegans traveling in the area to stop by and support them this summer, as the road construction surrounding their building has caused low traffic for them recently. It takes a few extra minutes to get there due to the detours but it's totally worth the trip!

My friend and I were in town for a long weekend, and as it was before Memorial Day, so considered pre-season. I kind of figured the cafe wouldn't be open, but the staff was so kind to make us oat milk lattes anyway. The grocery store has a nicely curated selection of healthy snacks and pantry staples, as well as a small produce section and both frozen and refrigerated options (frozen meals such as Amy's, plus vegan milk, butter, cheese, etc.).

I purchased two types of herbal sparkling waters, a small bag of freshly made kale chips, and some vegan/gluten-free cookie bites from a local bakery. All were delicious.

Pros: Nicely curated vegan grocery selection, Vegan milk options at the cafe, Friendly staff

Love it here!

I love coming here whenever i’m in DC because it reminds me of the co-op in Madison, WI that I grew up going to. The store and cafe are small but have unique options that you can’t easily find in the rest of the peninsula. It can be pricey, but so are many of the other grocery stores in the area.

Good options

Went here to get the Vegan Pancakes but they were short staffed and couldn’t make it. Ordered smoothies instead and they were good. Really liked the grocery store here.

Pros: Vegan options

Helpful staff

They have a couple of sandwiches and a few wraps that can easily be made vegan.

Pros: Grocery store attached

Bad bakery

It’s nasty. We don’t ever go here. One time is enough. There were a lot of bugs in the grocery part and it’s over priced. The brownie is one thing I recall well, both children and myself spat it out upon putting it in our mouths. We have been vegan over 5 years and this by far was the worst place ever. Staff was however friendly.

Alrighty so I came back after so many people told me to try again. Went in and well items on the menu labeled vegan are NOT vegan. I won’t be going back again. If I could give zero stars I would.

Pros: Vegan options , Friendly staff

Cons: Gross, Nasty, Not good

Favorite place to shop in Door County

This place has great selection of vegan food, bargains on sale, fresh produce, friendly staff, beer and wine and delicious cafe items clearly marked vegan. Mom (not quite vegan) and I love to shop here. Wish there was a location in Fish Creek too, but it is a gem in Egg Harbor for all of Door County.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Vegetarian (no meat)

Cons: Vegetarian (milk and eggs), They don't take coupons

Excellent!

My family and I are gluten-free vegans, and this store and cafe are wonderful. We had smoothies, salads, and wraps here. The staff is amazing, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. Almost everything on the menu could be made vegan, and there were many GF and no added sugar options. We are so glad to have found this fantastic place!

Great place in the middle of Meat Town, WI

Went up north to Door County for a weekend. Small towns up there on the thumb of the WI mitten. We searched for a vegetarian place to eat. This one is in Egg Harbor, Door county, WI and most likely the only vegetarian/vegan place to eat. It is also a health food store. The smoothies were AWESOME and were made without yogurt! woo-hoo! My husband tried a smoothy in another town further north, but when I saw them throw all this yogurt in, I bought a bottle of water instead. Anyhoo, there is a deli in Greens and Grains and we ordered Vegetarian Italian pannini. Oh and we bought a selection of muffins to take home (very good) The panninis were great! My husband was jealous of my smoothie - tropical with pineapple, banana and coconut water - it was so good he wished he had skipped the smoothie at the other place. He had a Green Buzz drink at Greens and Grains which he said was awesome, but he wanted mine too. Every one was friendly. Two people behind the counter so you had to wait a little bit for your food, but it was Saturday at lunch time, and there were a lot of tourists out there that weekend, so it was understandable and worth the wait! The meal was refreshing. Wish we could find something like this around where we are, back in Illinois, so the search continues. Highly recommend Greens and Grains! Thank you Happy Cow for existing!!

Pros: healthy food, tastes great, variety of choices
