Quality Indian food - Edit
We had a nice experience here with helpful staff that could accommodate for us as vegans. The free water was nice. The food was tasty, flavourful and seemed healthy. Food was reasonably priced

Herbal and Ayurvedic Indian Vegetarian Food - Edit
Herbal and Ayurvedic Indian vegetarian eatery that also does not use MSG, white sugar, preservatives, or reused cooking oil. During lunch there is a buffet (vegan-friendly except for 2 items) and a la carte dishes, whereas during dinner there is no buffet but there is a more extensive a la carte menu. Although the menu did not label dairy and alliums, I appreciated that the staff (I think he was the owner) was friendly, well-informed, and accomodating to different dietary preferences - he said that many of the a la carte dishes could be customised accordingly. The food we ordered looked simple but was tasty and healthy (not oily). Will definitely be back for more! 3 to 5 minutes' walk from Jalan Besar MRT.

Tasty food, generous portions, in the heart of Little India - Edit
It’s vegetarian, but the owner understood vegan - everything I ordered was checked through the kitchen to make sure no ghee, butter or egg.

Tasty Indian - Edit
Tasty Indian dishes. Owner knows what vegan means and can make a lot of dishes vegan but it is not marked on the menu. Our food tasted fresh and the price is all right.

Nice food but a long wait - Edit
We came here for lunch and it must have been peak time (despite us being one of the only groups in the restaurant at the time of being seated) because it took close to 40 minutes in getting our food. A few groups of people who sat down after us actually received their food before us, which we thought was strange. I think they also forgot our drinks, because we had to remind them about them (after 30 minutes)...
Read moreIt's a shame there was such a long wait, because aside from that the food was tasty and the owner was very friendly and charming. He made us feel very welcome and happy to be here, even though we were hungry for our food. The dishes were full of flavour and the roti was delicious - they also made masala chai for us using coconut milk instead of regular milk, which was very nice and accommodating of them. I would like to return and see if the wait time is just as long, or if they were simply having an off day on this occurrence. All in all, nice food and friendly staff.
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Accommodating & friendly staff

Little gem - Edit
Popped to the Green Leaf Cafe for lunch; I like the fact that this cafe has a focus on the health benefits of good food. I ordered the mix veg pulao (mixed veg and rice) which cost $7 so was a good value lunch option. The portion was generous, and the food tasty and filling. Spice level was medium - mostly not that spicy but every now and again you’d get a very spicy mouthful! The free cumin water was not for me - I had a few sips but not to my taste as I’ve never been a fan of cumin. Might persevere for the health benefits though!

Nice local feel - Edit
I think this is a S. Indian place which does a variety of Indian food. You can get the buffet or order a la carte. Food and service were both good. The complimentary cumin (jeera) infused water was a nice bonus.

The only items non vegan were pointed out to me which were a Raita and a kheer. Everything else I ordered from the buffet were vegan and delicious. We chatted with the owner who was very friendly and helpful.

Great Food - Edit
I was here with my hubby yesterday for lunch. We had the buffet and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We were served hummingbird soup for appetizer, 4 different veges, spicy gravy (kara kuzhambu), ladies finger sambar, rasam, curd rice, lemon rice and white rice. For dessert we had cut fruits, rice payasam and vadai.
Read moreI even asked for a bigger bowl for payasam and the staff obliged with a smile.
On the contrary to the other reviews, I felt that the staff were friendly and engaging.
I would definitely return to try their tiffin items.
Pros: Great tasting food at affordable prices, Obliging staff
Cons: tucked away from the main road (Serangoon road)

awesome, healthy food; but really unfriendly staff - Edit
Went there on a weekda around 6:30pm, only 4 other guests in the whole restaurant. Staff ignored me for like 5/10 minutes, did not even bring me a menu or something. I already wanted to go again when finally someone came. Quite a no-go for me. Also when I ordered and later paid, staff was really rude and unfriendly!
Read moreFood however was awesome! I had the masala dosa which was amazing, ordered it without ghee (so vegan) and it was crisp, but not too oily. Stuffed with the most flavourful potatoes and with four amazing amazing "sauces" to dip. I eat dosa quite frequently in Malaysia, but this one was one a whole new level. $3,50 was also quite a bargain as it was big and had lots of potatoes inside.
Ginger tea for $1,50 was nice too.
Please provide a better service and I wouldn't hesitate to give 5stars! Food is on top!

Uniquely Good - Edit
I happened on this place randomly one evening and it was a very nice surprise. It's not your standard Indian fare. It uses a lot of the regular spices, but it doesn't have the crazy amount of oil that's usually present in typical Indian food. I admit that I wasn't familiar with all of the dishes on the menu, but everything I ordered was great. If you want something fresh, healthy and uniquely delicious; this place is for you.

Excellent Discovery - Edit
We came across this place by chance, having intended on going to 1 of 3 well reviewed places nearby, we took a flyer from someone that looked like he needed help in getting rid of them and we were very glad that we did. We ended up going on both of our last 2 days in Singapore and had 3 dishes which we'd never tried before, with maximum enthusiasm from the manager and an emphasis on healthy food, including not re-using cooking oil and using some out of the ordinary ingredients & herbs, with a good range of gluten free options. Competitive prices.
Read moreBeautiful teas and healthy drinks too, particularly the ginger tea.
Service can be a bit on the slow side but only because they're not trying to hard sell another dish.
We'd love to have this as our regular Indian cafe/restaurant. Opened in 2015 and hopefully gets the custom that it deserves.
Pros: Excellent Food, Some hard to find meals, Friendly
Cons: Service could be a bit quicker

Really good - Edit
A delightful place. The staff were great and helped us with what to order. Simple and tasty meals made with care. We had chapatti and two dosa between two. The ginger tea was the perfect end to a lovely and inexpensive meal.
