OK place for vegan food

I had the John B. Denton burger with the black bean patty sub, which was only OK- I was looking for something lighter, and it fit the bill. All of the burgers can be subbed with the same bean patty. My dinner partner had the black bean tamales, which were substantial and well seasoned. Leave off the cheese and sour cream though.

Pros: Spacious digs, Special diet menu

Cons: Only a few real options

its good

the food is alright, but what bothers me is they claim a bunch of vegan options when they have like… three.

Pros: good food, good atmosphere

Vegan possibilities, vegetarian options

This downtown Denton restaurant routinely changes its menu, but they always consider their vegetarian customers. Black bean burgers, brunch bowls and hearty salads.

Try the Southwestern brunch bowl without eggs or cheese, black bean tamales without cotija cheese or sour cream and black bean burgers galore.

Pros: The vegetarian dishes are easily veganized

Denton Staple!

They offer a couple vegan options. Everything we've had has been delicious and service is always excellent..

Watch out!

Be careful about what you order. The fries are cooked in the same oil as the meats. The vegetarian chicken fried steak is also fried in that oil. This is according to a waitress who checked for me. The hamburgers can be ordered vegan. My favorite choice is the black bean tamales.

Delicious Vegan Tamales

I was blown away by the serving size and taste of their tamales which can be made vegan by omitting the sour cream and cheese. They may be the best tamales I've ever had! Not many other options though.

Special Menu

They have their menu online and they have gluten free, nut allergy, vegan, and vegetarian options listed on the "special diet" menu. It looks like they have some great options. Can't wait to eat there.

Great!

Good food, great atmosphere. I've never been disappointed with the quality of food. Vegetarian and non vegetarian options are equally yummy. The patio is great.
