Amazing food

Great array of modern food. Very creative. Good service. A bit pricey, but high quality. Limited opening hours since moving locations is a hassle for families and group meets.

A-MAZE-ING!

Great atmosphere, lovely staff and their food is fantastic. Took my omnivore brother and partner and they were also impressed. Their antipasto board with a range of 'cheeses' was amazing!

Pros: All vegan

Cons: Not a thing

Yummy

I used to visit Greenhouse frequently when they were in Kirra and the food was always amazing. I find so much comfort in knowing that the entire menu is vegan, that means I can eat whatever I want without asking questions or making modifications to the meal. I was certain the canteen version was going to be just as good as the factory and it is. The portions are just as big. The food is just as fresh and tasty. I really love this place. It's high up on my list of favourite places to eat. My only criticism of this place is that due to the limited space, the seating is quite cramped and the outdoor tables are very narrow so it's a little awkward to eat there but worth it if you love good food. Get in early though because this place packs out quickly. They don't take bookings, which I actually prefer because you won't get turned away if you're early. I've had the Vietnamese pancake and tried the nachos - each of them were amazing. I hear the enchilada is amazing too but next time, I'm going for the hot dog!!

Pros: taste, variety, value

Cons: small space

Nice space, interesting food

Greenhouse Canteen has downsized from its earlier incarnation as The Greenhouse Factory, but in various ways is nicer - the smaller space is cosy yet open.

Two of us had stuffed zucchini flowers, Buffalo cauliflower 'wings', my friend had a hot chocolate, and we finished with a slice of lemon passionfruit cheesecake.

The zucchini flowers had a good almond feta filling and pesto. You don't get a lot, but they were nice. The cauli 'wings' are a great idea, but were disappointing.

Usually 'wings' are supposed to be spicy, though i understand that the Canteen offers them as "mildly spiced." Ok by me, but more salt and a little more spice - which doesn't necessarily mean heat - could really make this dish a winner. As it was, both the wings themselves and the accompanying dip rocketed up the bland-o-meter.

My friend enjoyed her hot chocolate and we finished up with a lemon passionfruit cheesecake (vegan of course). This was a great choice to finish - well presented with a tangy sauce and a touch of whipped creme nicely complementing the cake itself.

I would give the Canteen 5 stars, if not for the lacklustre cauli wings. But i'm sure they can iron things like this out, and i look forward to returning.

Pros: nice space, interesting food, easy public transport access
