Fully vegan organisation 💚💚💚 - Edit
We visited Greener Pastures by booking a 2 hour tour of the sanctuary which was easy to do online.
Read moreWe received an informative email before the day letting us know what to wear etc. It can get quite muddy. The sanctuary really appreciate a donation of suitable fruit and veg, so we cleaned out our fridge and took a big bag which the tour group fed to the pigs who seemed to enjoy it just as much as the kiddos throwing it to them.
Our tour guide was great and told us lots about the animals and the history of the sanctuary.
This is not a petting zoo but if animals approach you then you are allowed to stroke them. Some animals are used to human interaction and love a good pat and scratch especially the animals who gave grown up on the sanctuary. Some do not and this was respected by all.
We loved how this is a fully vegan organisation and there's a large sign as you enter asking you not to bring meat, dairy or eggs onto the property out of respect to the rescue animals 💚💚💚
There are items you can buy to help support the sanctuary, I bought a sweatshirt of which there were a few designs to choose from.
The animals we met were super friendly, our tour guide was very careful to let us know which animals were safe to pat and it seemed to us to be a very positive and safe place for the rescue animals.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend a visit!
They also host fundraisers ie drag bingo nights.
