good buffet food

it’s not a fully vegan place! they serve egg in many of the dishes but can tell you what’s without egg.
it’s a busy place also. the price of 48 hkd for a full meal is very nice though.
but I wasn’t too comfortable as i expected a fully vegan place and then saw omelette (real egg one), so I was a little concerned.

Pros: price of buffet , taste was ok

Cons: not vegan. difficult to find out as they’re busy

Tasty

We ate the Veggy pork and a salad of avocado. We missed salads in Asia so we really enjoyed it ! And they served a good Smokey tea for free.

Taoist treats

This is located very conveniently near Exhibition Hall MTR/Wan Chai in thr not so busy Jaffe street. There are always people eating inside, very calm & relaxed atmosphere. The staff is friendly, no communication issues experienced. The food arrived swiftly. We ordered the set which ia quite a big meal & som.extra dishes. Very tasty & reasonable price.
Again, the 'pork' buns taste nothing like pork but are delicious in their own way.

Staff in general didn’t speak English but the food is great and all vegetarian.
Enjoyed the sweet and sour spring rolls ‘pork’ buns.

Love this place

Sure this is not 5 star dining and the staff's English is pretty much non-existent but for those reviewers who complained about service and language you can just go eat in a 5 star hotel rather than experience something authentic and delicious. The food is absolutely brilliant, proper Cantonese dishes. We discovered it was so good at dinner and then returned the next day for lunch where the lunchtime queue was literally out the door with locals - now that has to tell you something.
Don't worry about the language barrier, the menu has English and pictures. And in fact we had a lovely waitress, an older lady, who was great with all the customers.

Just okay

The dishes were just okay. Left a bit disappointed and not so full because couldn’t finish the meals that I ordered.

*Chef’s kiss*

A close to perfect meal with braised eggplant tofu, “beef” fried noodles, char sui buns, and Japanese style “pork” cutlet. Highly recommend!!!

Pros: Authentic HK veggie/vegan food, Cheap, Big portions

So good

Some of the best Chinese vegetarian food in Hong Kong, and definitely of a higher quality than most veg places. Busy at lunchtime, may take some time for food to come out. The steamed buns were a little sweet for me, but the pork filling was superb. I loved the monkey head mushroom (or mountain head as the call it) in pepper sauce with broccoli, and the flat noodles in XO sauce were outstanding. Service was good, only a little English spoken. Large menu, dairy and eggs marked, prices reasonable. Will definitely come back.

Mixed Feelings

The food is quite good, but rather expensive. You won‘t be full after one serving.

But the main criticisms is against the staff. The really push you to order, stare at you will eating. This is not enjoyable.

You can try it, but If you can -> go elsewhere.

Great vegetarian Chineese

Went there for dinner with a friend who is from HK and loved it so much that went there again the second day .
Extensive menu with many vegan options.
Staff doesn’t speak great English but their menu is in English and with photos as well so all you need to do is point at what you’d like .
I loved the eggplant with tofu the most .

Pros: English menu with photos , Fast service

Nice food

We had late lunch, around 2.45pm, and was pleasantly surprised that it was half price off from 2.30pm-5pm. Prices before discount are already moderate by HK standards.

Pros: Good taste, but a bit oily for the fried noodles, No afternoon break, good for consumers.

Cons: Nil

Vegetarian Chinese food with mock meats

We loved the food at Green Veggie but the service was a little pushy at times. The mock meats did not appeal to us as we eat almost no meat or fish at all now, however their menu was interesting and we enjoyed looking at the photos! Nice interior and fast 'order to table'.

Pros: Lots of options, Mock meats (if that's your thing) , Fast service

Cons: More expensive than other places but worth it

Rude staff

Extremely rude staff. Foof was okay, they use egg so clarify. They poor you tea thrn add it to the bill. It says it on the menu but doesn't say if they add more water that they will charge you. I don't recommend this place. Go spend your money where your business is valued.

amazing food!

This is my second visit to Green Veggie. I have to say that both experiences were equally delightful. The portions are big be warned. The menu is easy to read and you have a great selection of food choices. I believe their version of sweet and sour veggie chicken is the best of any I have tasted to date. Full of fruit and veggies. The noodle with veggies was also very good. The sashimi platter is a great choice for starters and makes a really beautiful presentation. The BBQ veggie pork buns are sincerely scary ...as they remind me of the original BBQ pork buns. They nailed the sweet and smoky flavor. The chili mushroom in hot pot also very good. The veggie seafood in curry served in bread bowl is insane good! It's a huge plate of stacked and layered bread with the centers cutout to form a bowl then filled with veggie seafood curry. AMAZING! A definite must try here. Over all great food served in a casual atmosphere.

Pros: delicious food, varied choices, all veggie. afford

Cons: small location so it can get very busy at lunchtim

Lovely little place in Wanchai

I am so happy to have discovered this little gem!
I came in around 2.10 and the place was quiet. Apparently there had been quiet a crowd for the lunch special as they were out of 8 of the 10 dishes.
So, I had the Assorted Stir Fry Veggies with Pine Nuts and the half portion of the BBQ pork with Buns. Both dishes were extremely tasty....Flavourful and not too salty.
The staff were very friendly and the decor of the place is quite stylish.
They do take-away, take credit cards and are very good value for money. There is even free WiFi (you have to agree to T&C).
I will be happy to return on my next visit to HK

Pros: Everything

Cons: None

Amazing food, warm people

We spent a long weekend in Hong Kong and were so pleased with this restaurant that we went twice. Everything we ate was wonderful: barbecue "pork" buns, sweet and sour mountain head mushrooms, dried "beef" noodles, "shrimp" with mango, spring rolls, oh my. We felt very welcome and our server went out of his way to continuously refill our tea and show us some things he saw that we were curious about. They even brought us free dessert! Beautiful and clean as well. Love. This. Place. We (two adults and one child) ate for 35 U.S. dollars, I think.

A Great Find In Wan Chai!

Thanks Happy Cow for directing me to this great restaurant! The food was amazing, and great value for the price. It is a fantastic vegetarian restaurant (but not everything is Vegan, as dishes may include egg and cheese). There were so many options, and I wished I could sample everything on the menu. I opted for the set menu, which was great value. The staff were attentive - and would not let my tea cup go empty. I arrived early (at 6pm) on a Tuesday; I was the only guest there - but in 15 minutes the restaurant had almost filled up. I stared in awe at my neighbour's food arriving, everything looked mouthwatering. The menu is in English, and contains photos of some of the dishes.

Pros: Amazing food, great value, Extensive menu, Easy to find on Jaffe Road

Green Veggie - Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island

I lunched here today, choosing the HK$48 option which comprised a soup, rice, and three separate dishes. I also added in the sweet and sour gluten for an extra HK$10. The food was excellent, and included tofu in a curry sauce, a radish dish, and aubergine in a chilli sauce (which was not as spicy as it sounded). The restaurant staff were very attentive and the food was served super fast; I was in and out within half an hour. Green Veggie also offers the set lunch for takeaway, with smaller lunch options available from HK$45. I’ll be going back!

Pros: Delicious food, Friendly and attentive staff, A choice of portion size on lunch menu
