Very good healthful food! - Edit
Stopped here for lunch with my partner, was amazed at the variety of foods! What I thought was most surprising, was that made deserts had no nuts/tree nuts in them, which is ideal for me because of my allergy. I didn't try everything, all of it looked delicious! Highly recommend coming here.
Read moreThe only downside for me was the cost, I'm happy overall to pay for good food but it's hard to gauge the weight of the plate and therefore the price before getting to the register.
Pros: Very good food, Many desserts without tree nuts, Great variety
Cons: Can get expensive

Thank you for your reviewing us! Glad you were able to find desserts without your allergens as ingredients?

This place is definitely amongst my "Top 3" vegan places in Victoria. All-day yummy buffet, huge selection of cakes and sweets, friendly staff and really cozy spacious interior. There is also a notice board with many interesting vegan-friendly events around Victoria! If I lived in Victoria, I would eat there every day!

A bounty of choices! - Edit
Whether you’re vegan, plant based and oil free, or even an omni, you will find food you love here! I started with a large plate of mixed greens and piled it high with hot and cold veggies, rice and beans, tempeh and 3 types of dressing - I chose all oil free (except one dressing). It was so filling and delicious!! All for $12. Love this place!

Sweet treat - Edit
Only had a sweet treat to takeaway and it was good. Was called a fudge but didn’t resemble anything like a fudge! The buffet options looked great though!

Quick, Convenient & Very Good - Edit
We enjoyed it. Some people said the food was bland or too spicy but we didn’t find either to be true. My husband and I each filled a plate and got a dessert for a little over $30 and we were both full (me a little too full)! We thought the food was great and it was nice to have something quick and easy. We will go back for sure.

Expensive and meh - Edit
This place is priced by weight. My boyfriend and I each got a plate and a cup of soup. We didnt even have that large of a plate each and for both of us it came to $52! This was for lunch. While we were stuffed after this meal it's definitely not for people on a budget or anyone that eats more than a small bird. The taste of the food was just okay, pretty bland. I definitely wouldn't go back.

Cons: Very expensive, Food was just okay, Only paid street parking is available
KellenH
Hi! Thank you for your feedback. We have a wide variety of dishes and many additional sauces and dressings that can be added on, so we are sorry that you didn't find the flavours you were looking for. Yes we are priced by weight, so the heaviest and densest items all over the plate will make for a higher than usual cost. Let us know if there is anything you think we can do to improve!

Expensive, bland or incredibly spicy - Edit
We paid a fortune for a single plate of food and a smaller plate with desserts. The tofu marinara had hot peppers in it. The curry rice was flaming with hot curry. The falafel had added cayenne. The aloo gobi was flaming. All I could find that was not spicy was the dilled potato wedges, fresh tofu roll, and some disgustingly bland yellow lentil dal. They were out of both soups at 6:45pm( close at😄and the salad greens were wilted. Don’t waste your money unless you like expensive, fiery hot or bland food. $30 for one person and I did not fill up my plate. I would give them no stars but happy cow is rating them a two.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience! Thank you for your feedback. We do have all the ingredients listed above each buffet dish so that if you don't like spicy or curry kinds of foods you can avoid those dishes.

You need this place in your life! - Edit
I will probably eat here everytime I come to Victoria from now on.
Read moreThe selection is incredible, I paid just over $20 but I got a huge plate and wen I eat, I go hard. The tempeh, corn bread, quinoa burgers and tofu scrambled were the highlights. I also had a caramel brownie and choc/rice crunch bar which were amazing.
The selection here is seriously unbeatable, I will keep coming back just to try new things and enjoy an amazing meal.
Prices are very reasonably, staff are lovely and the vibes here are incredible.
Pros: HUGE VARIETY, Amazing desserts, Lovely staff

Vegan buffet - Edit
Had the vegan ice cream- it was yuck!
Read morethe service was poor, but to be fair they were so busy and not staffed for the amounts of customers! So many vegan savoury options that looked yum, but I didn’t try any. Vegan buffet with all the ingredients listed, menu changes daily and priced by weight
Pros: Vegan buffet- so many options, Ingredients listed
Cons: Busy , Dirty, Not enough staff

Favourite Vegan Spot in YYJ!! - Edit
Green Cuisine is by far my favourite vegan restaurant in Victoria, BC. Everything here is made from scratch and several menu items rotate daily. They serve everything you can possibly imagine and even make their own tempeh, tofus, icecream and more! They list the ingredients in every dish which makes it incredibly easy to cater to preferences, allergies and diets. If you've never been, I highly recommend!

Okay but not amazing - Edit
Buffet style which is nice so you can get as much or as little as you like (charged by weight) and lots of variety and things to choose from. But to be honest found everything I tried pretty bland and uninspiring. The coconut curry tasted of just coconut milk and not much else and the terriaki tofu was also pretty tasteless. The Mac and cheese style pasta and noodle salad were nice but not great. Seem to have lots of drink options too, juices, coffee etc and desserts but I didn’t try any. Seems popular so maybe I got them on a bad day I don’t know. Lots of seating.

An absolute Treat - Edit
As a performer who is consistently traveling, I found myself here every time I found myself in Victoria this summer. I never thought I would find a soul food vegan restaurant in canada with a head chef coming from my home state South Carolina. Must be why it felt like home every time I walked in. I celebrated my 3 years of Veganism here and with the wide and delicious variety of food and treats, all 13 of my visits contained different meals.

Feels like home - Edit
Green Cuisine is like a staple long-time establishment in Victoria, BC, for everyone. It is a trustworthy & go-to venue to have delicious home-made style food that we don't usually find anywhere else. They have a large seating area & even also a little play area for kids with books & toys, so definitely bring your kiddos along to enjoy healthy vegan food.
Read moreTheir buffet spread always have a great selection of whole grains, beans, tofu & tempeh. Of course, they also have a salad bar for all your fresh veggies needs. What is exciting is that they have a dessert spread on their buffet, such as pies & cheesecake (vegan, of course!). All these items are charged by weight.
They always have 2 soups of the day for you to choose from. These soups are charged by bowls (not by weight), so it would be smart for you to fill up your bowl should you choose to get it!
Even if I don't eat at Green Cuisine, I tend to drop by their restaurant just to buy their own tempeh. You can also find their Green Cuisine tempeh brand at some of the grocery stores in town but buying direct from their restaurant would give you the best prices!
Pros: great selection on buffet with ingredient list, kids-friendly, they have a large community bulletin board
Cons: mostly affordable but can be unexpectedly pricey, buffet-style so some dishes may not be hot, so many selections, i want to try everything!

Long History - Edit
My dad's been vegan most of my life and I remember him taking me here as a kid.
Read moreNow that I'm an adult vegan myself, I always enjoy going to Green Cuisine. As mentioned, they're by-weight buffet style, with ingredient lists next to everything - they always have focaccia and corn breads, plus salad ingredients, hummus, and one or two daily soups. The soups change day to day, and both the beads and the soups are fixed price items.
The rest of their savoury buffet changes day to day; my personal favourites are the tempeh (all), lentil patties (I don't even like lentils, wth), and scalloped potatoes.
On top of that, they always have by-weight and by-item desserts.
Always worth the price, in my opinion.
