Bebemos sumos naturais e ainda uma merengada de limão de sobremesa. A comida estava toda otima e o staff é super simpático

Read moreWe arrived early 11.40 as their socials said they were closed for lunch??? (They need to get this right as the night before their socials said they were open at 6 when in fact they did not open at all)
Anyway eventually we sat down on the sunny terrace and I ordered the special which was the curry. H had the vegan 🌱 bowl. The sauce was passed it’s sell by date on the bowl and H sent it back.
It came back re-made and nice. My curry was hot 🥵 and it was good.
I then ordered the chia pudding with a soya latte and both were nice.
The future is vegan 🌱

Unfortunately, when it comes to places catering to vegans, it’s not very rare to find confusing information about opening hours. This is why I always check on every website and social media page possible. Green Buddha had just a few days earlier made a proud post on Instagram that their new opening hours were from 6pm. At 6pm there was no one in sight, but fine, it was a Monday and the tourist season was over.

Green Buddha is a place that at least tries, but where vegans still get the short end of the stick. There are tofu options for some of the dishes that otherwise contain egg.
The Vegan Bowl for less than 8€ was an extremely simple dish of quinoa, slices of cucumber, avocado and smoked tofu. The beetroot-strawberry sauce had gone fizzy, but this was rectified with apologies.
My fresh juice was diluted with water and the coffee was also pretty weak, even for an abatanado.
The cost of everything is going up and for a small business things must be tough, but 12.90€ for a small bowl of daily special veg curry is eye-watering.
I’d say my experience wasn’t worth a lot more than 1.5 stars, but they’re getting an extra star for doing what they’re doing in a town without many exciting and plentiful vegan options. A lot of room for improvement, but a vegan would still, one way or another, find oneself there when visiting V.R.S.A.
