Thrilled to have this place reopen!

We were thrilled to have this place reopen! The food is still great and the staff and owners amazingly friendly and customer service focused.

We will miss the table service that was in the last location but this location is in a food court and does have seating available. On the plus side, the food court does have parking!

If you haven't been to Grasshopper before definitely check out the light assorted appetizers (#18). Their soups are all fantastic, the No-Name is a favorite as well. But it's hard to go wrong really as everything is amazing. If you come here enough the staff will get to know you and it's like seeing friends every time you visit :)

Pros: A lot of options, Great value, reasonable prices, Staff are amazingly nice :)

Cons: Seating area is in a food court

Wonderful vegan noms

I love this place! Great restaurant with lovely food.

Only qualms are that I actually really did not enjoy the buffet very much - food was generic and only warm instead of hot. Also the interior doesn't look so good. However, the menu ordered meals on non-buffet days are wonderful.

I'll miss this place and I really really hope they find a new spot!!

Pros: Delicious stews and vegetables

Cons: Buffet is meh

Death row meal

This is literally the best vegan restaurant for 2 reasons. The No Name and the tofu chicken fingers. The bean shakes are spectacular too. If I could pick my last meal this would be it. Sadly, Grasshopper is closing May 29th, so you better try it before then or go back one last time because I’ve never had these dishes anywhere else . We’ll, I’ve had tofu chicken fingers at Boston’s now defunct Buddha’s Delight . But the No Name is one of a kind.

Pros: Delicious food, Customer service , Great vibe

A little disappointed

The sushi was really just not good/: the pieces were huge and not really like sushi. Way too much rice . My tofu was not really what I expected. I will have to go back and try more

Delicious

So good! Came here with a non-veg friend for dinner and we both loved it. Split an appetizer mix and I had the mushroom and kale surprise which is deliciously gingery. Good prices and extensive menu.

Lack of Gluten Free Options

I do love this restaurant, but after becoming gluten free, I've been more disappointed. Most of their food has gluten in it sadly :(

Typically before this allergy, I would order the tofu nuggets which were my fav!

Pros: So many options!

Cons: Lack of GF options

Large portions, great vegan takeout

Solid asian food with large portions, very affordable. Ordered spicy dishes but were not spicy. Brought most of it home and added some chili oil, tamari, and vegan oyster sauce and was good left over. So much potential, hoping it was an off day.

Pros: Large portions, In expensive, Great for takeout

Cons: Tired restaurant, Mild flavors

Good meal with great portion sizes

I don’t usually opt for so much mock meat but the house lo-mein (this included all offered mock meat) and the sweet and sour sensation were fantastic. Also, the soup was almost triple the quantity my group expected.

1. Sweet and sour sensation with brown rice
2. House lo-mein
3. Sweet and sour soup
4. Vegan miso soup

Large menu and portions

We loved everything we had here, and the bill was shockingly low for all we ordered. We didn’t love the ambiance, and without AC on an 80* day I was sweating while I ate, but it was all worth it for the food and the value.

Pros: Huge selection and portions, Very reasonably priced

Cons: Ambiance is a bit lacking

Great variety

I ordered delivery and it was quick. I ordered the sweet and sour, house fried rice and cheesecake.

Pros: Fast, Decent food - sweet and sour was the best, It’s all vegan!

Cons: I liked but didn’t love the meals.

Great service

Food had lots of flavor. Service exceptional. Expect large portion for reasonable price. Best quality and quantity for your dollar amount, in my opinion. Definitely my new favorite restaurant at the moment.

Large Menu and Affordable

Grasshopper is reliable. There are a ton of options to choose from, and I always have leftovers. I find fake seafood kind of weird but I like the tofu and vegetables.

Lots of options

This place has many options to choose from. The staff was very nice and the portions were huge. Maybe too much to finish on your own. Which means you'll have leftovers!

Good portion size and delicious

My husband and I are not around this area so we don’t know if there is a parking lot for this restaurant. But we had to drive around twice near that area to find parking. The food was delicious. Just the right amount of seasoning. The portion is big. We had to pack our leftover home. Wish the food was more hot tho. Our tea and soup was warm only. Services are excellent.

Flavorful food

I told them to make my food really spicy and I'm glad they actually followed through. All the food was popping with flavor. Portion sizes are large. I got the coconut curry with veggies and tofu dish and the fried spring rolls.

Best Meals

This is the place I keep traveling back to. The place that I dream about. The place I was brought to as a child, and can't forget.

As countless people before me have said, the No Name is fantastic. It's not the only fantastic thing on the menu, but it is something I never go and not order.

Pros: Portion sizes, Good food, Prices

Cons: Drink offerings, Location

Best vegan Chinese restaurant

This is honestly the best all-vegan Chinese restaurant I've been to. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. I highly recommend the taro nest and the kale mushroom Supreme.

Pros: All vegan, Extensive menu, Tasty

Cons: Expensive

Exciting variety, substantial portions

The House platter and noodle soup was great. Hard to complain with the portion sizes but the scallion pancakes fell apart a bit too easily. I've had more success at home using sourdough starter for the base.

Pros: Fully vegan, Great Service and atmosphere , Great pricing:portion ratio

Cons: Plastic packaging

Just amazing

Amazing food but I'm probably bias since I eat here every week when I'm in Boston! Great deal great amount of food and super yummy taste! Low key healthy but yeah haha. Ask for the orange chicken made with tofu. And the black beef is to die for!

THE BEST

Grasshopper is my legit favourite restaurant of all time. The food is incredibly delicious, the prices cheap, and the staff extremely friendly.

You can’t go wrong with any item here, but I highly recommend the Jon special:

Tofu hand rolls
BBQ veggie pork
Sweet and sour sensation (superior to the no name!)

Pros: Great food, Friendly staff, Still cheap after all these years

Pleasantly surprised

Based on the reviews and the scuttlebutt I wasn’t expecting too much. Was much better than I was expecting. We got the hot and sour soup which I thought was right up there with many hot and sour soups and better than most. We also got number 93, house special crispy Taro nest. Lots of vegetables, cooked well with Al dente veggies, not too oily or too saucy. (You know how sometimes Chinese food is smothered in sauce). Still had plenty of flavor. Good balance of flavors and veggies to protein.

Pros: A huge vegan menu, Our dishes tasted fresh, Plenty of flavor without being too much

Cons: Too much oil to be truly healthy , The restaurant isn’t that attractive, Parking can be a challenge

Looks too much like meat

I really wanted to love this place, as it is well knows amongst vegans. But their dishes look and taste way too much like meat.
The portions are a good size.
