Pleasantly surprised.

We knew they would do a vegan option when we phoned to book, but on arrival the menus had two vegan starters, two vegan mains and a vegan pudding. As well as vegan sides. Normally we are lucky to get one option when out and about. Food was of great standard and very tasty. Dog friendly in the bar area. Will definitely be back again.

Pros: Several vegan options., Dog friendly in the bar. , Nice atmosphere.

Cons: Bar doesn’t stay open late.

Lunch

We popped in at lunchtime for coffee and ended up ordering food too. I had a red pepper humus, tomato and rocket sandwich, which was fresh and tasty. My partner had the chilli and enjoyed it. Also the coffee was really good - they offer a few different plant milk options. The guy who served us was friendly and made us feel very welcome with our dog - brought out some water and treats for him.

Pros: Friendly & welcoming service, Fresh food

Cons: None

Vegan friendly wildlife hotel

Excellent food. Stayed here for a week and had dinner here every evening. Staff totally get what veganism implies. Made it all very relaxed. One vegan and one vegetarian main course option every night. Chef is very good and imaginative, offering totally different dishes every day - actually much more varied than the flesh eaters' options Superb desserts, too, and good soups and salads for starters.

Lots of breakfast options and they're flexible. They made me vegan porridge, for example, and you can have a cooked breakfast if that's your thing.

One of the owners is vegan, and it's mainly a hotel for wildlife watchers, hence its veg-friendly approach. I'd give it 5 stars as the food was easily as good as plant-based restaurants, but the app doesn't permit for non-veg places.

Covid measure tight, well organised.

Pros: They totally get veganism. , Vegan dishes and cuisine vary from day to day, The frangipane tart is stellar!

Cons: Background lounge music could be better!

Hotel with vegan options on menu

We stayed here for a week last year and a week this year. Last time there was no vegan option on the menu so the chef had to do a new option. Now I’m happy to see there is always vegan options on the set menu for the day. The desserts are really good and the risotto was great. Portions are small so you need at least two courses. It’s also a wildlife hotel so a good place to stay for wildlife conscious vegans

Pros: Vegan options daily

Cons: Serves meat also
