Good but expensive - Edit
Located across the street from Pacific Mall. It has a good selection of vegan dim sum. Make sure to tell the server you want vegan because many dishes contain egg. The sweet sour pork was the best! But prices are on the high side.

Fantastic vegan dim sum and friendly, accommodating staff! - Edit
This place blew me away with its amazing food, especially the vegan dim sum! We ordered a lot of dim sum (which I unfortunately did not get many pictures of - too tasty! - but I did snap a pic of the bao because it was my favourite) as well as their vegan "fish" congee. Just, everything was delightful. There was no food item I did not like, and I'm someone who has been to many dim sum places in the past. Price-wise it was also very good... honestly, I think it was less expensive than the non-vegan dim sum I had before I became vegan!
Read moreThe building interior was nice and cozy. Lots of other happy customers were eating there and the vibe was overall jovial. It's in a small-ish mall, but easy to find as you enter the restaurant side and it's directly to the right of the entrance.
One thing I wanted to especially mention... the staff member we had was THE BEST. He was super friendly, taking notes and was extremely diligent about accommodating to my boyfriend's food allergies and our vegan requests. I unfortunately did not get his name, but he honestly made our visit 10x more fantastic than it already was. The restaurant sticks out in my memories of our trip to Markham in part just because of how great he was.
So, if you want well-priced amazing vegan dim sum, friendly staff and an overall great dining experience, I highly recommend you go here!

Get The Pumpkin Tempura! - Edit
Stepping into Graceful Vegetarian feels like entering a peaceful oasis of culinary delights. From the moment I walked in, the friendly staff greeted me with genuine smiles, eager to guide me through a menu brimming with delightful vegetarian options.
Read moreThe tempura pumpkin came highly recommended, and it didn't disappoint – a crispy yet tender treat that danced on my taste buds!
Be aware that not all of their options are vegan, a quick chat with the ever-attentive servers will ease any concerns.
Whether you're a devoted herbivore or just dipping a toe into the world of meatless cuisine, Graceful Vegetarian serves a dining experience that's as warm and inviting as it is delicious.

Wonderful Dim Sum with a warm and welcoming staff. - Edit
I used to go to Graceful Vegetarian years ago before they moved to Splendid China Mall across the road from where they used to be beside Pacific Mall. This new place is brighter, cleaner and the staff here are more welcoming. On the writable Dim Sum menu, most of the Vegetarian items are placed at the end (you'll see the egg and honey items clearly) so avoiding them is helpful but our maître d' was wonderful in offering to inform our table which items were in fact Vegan. VERY helpful. Come here and enjoy.

Delicious - Edit
Amazing vegetarian food. We were asked our dietary preferences when we first arrived and they told us the menu was 95% vegan. Very accommodating and pointed out everything that was vegan and could be made vegan.

Yummy Dim Sum ! - Edit
All the Dim Sum taste great. My favorite Dim Sum is the Fried Wonton Wrapping, Deep Fried Vegetarian Spare, Sticky Rice in Lotus, and Pan Fried Soya Skin Stuffed Rolls. The only downside is that the texture of the Siu Mai is not like the authentic Siu Mai, it is relatively soft. Additionally, the servers are very nice and provide excellent service.

Family Restaurant Since 2002 - Edit
How has this restaurant and its staff been with my little family since my husband and I were first married, through bringing home two children, and then sending them off to university, and we have not written a review?!?
Read moreGraceful Veg is the North Star of our vegan family! When they were little, my kids used to literally write them spontaneous love letters and thank you notes while we were eating.
For all of these years, their food is consistent, delicious, and varied. You really can’t go wrong with any of their food.
Make sure you tell them you’re vegan and not just vegetarian.

Amazing Dim Sum! - Edit
I was so excited to have dim sum classics again. The service was amazing, so nice and able to accommodate anything we needed. The dumplings were great and the hot pot that the server recommended was delicious! I was most excited about the rice noodle rolls and they did not disappoint. I think the prices and serving sizes are fair for what they are providing.

Excellent food in a quiet dining room - Edit
An excellent traditional Chinese vegetarian restaurant. Had the bitter melon with eggplant. It was superb (if you like bitter melon, that is) As well as the silken tofu with mock seafood. Very satisfying. The dining room is lovely and quiet. Service was attentive and friendly. Part of the Splendid Chinese Mall but off in a corner with a separate entrance.

heavy on mock meats - Edit
If you're interested in mock meats in sauce this place is for you. The veggies I got in my hot pot were well cooked and the sauce was tasty so I'd definitely recommend eating here if you're looking for a place nearby but the sashimi appetizer was a bit over chewy and plain for me. It's a challenge to find a wide choice of items with lots of veggies as many dishes focus just on mock meats on this menu. My hot pot had more types of mock meats than veggies, 4 to 2 I think. I enjoy mock meats, and I realize I'm spoiled coming form the land of Herbivorous Butcher, but these didn't have much flavor to distinguish between each mock meat. Much of this is due I feel to the desire of many to have cheap food when choosing an Asian restaurant. I hope I get to try the dim sum here someday as I'd really like to try a variety of options. I was very happy that the restaurant was so committed to explaining what had dairy and egg in it.

delicious - Edit
The menu was extensive... I ordered the General Tso Mock chicken and it was amazing. I also got a vegetable stir fry and some plain rice. The vegetables were perfectly crispy with just a light sauce- the way I like them. The servings were big. The total for two people came to approx $40 with tip. I need to go back to try more of their many choices.

I'd Marry This Restaurant Were It Legally Possible - Edit
I had the luck of visiting this wonderful place a while back and I have been dreaming of it ever since.. I am a voracious fan of dim sum and being vegan makes this difficult.. except here. I am still not sure if it was all just a wonderful dream, but as the other reviews would have it, maybe heaven IS a place on earth.
Read morePuppy love aside, the food is excellent. Mock meats are their speciality - it makes for a fun, enjoyable experience instead of trying to weed through the menu in order to find something edible. Textures, tastes, quanities.. all excellent, the only downsides being it's location (though I'm sure to people in Markham, it's a lucky thing) and the prices making it a special occasion thing only. Both of these things are minor though as when I'm asked what the best food I've ever had was, I refer them to this little place.
Restaurant is clean, staff are fine and understand English; I went with a native speaker so that did help move things along faster but I doubt anyone else would have an issue with this.
I recommend Graceful Vegetarian very highly.
Pros: Wonderful selection, DELICIOUS, ..DELICIOUS

Very nice! - Edit
This is a nice restaurant, relaxing atmosphere (buddhist style) and the service is very good. I went here two weeks ago for lunch and really enjoyed the dim sum (all vegetarian). The food was great and the staff helpful to select dishes that were suitable for my diet (I do not eat egg). I would come back again and recommend to anyone who wants to try dim sum "veggie" style.

Dim Sum Yum - Edit
I have now been here twice for Dim Sum and it was very good. As someone with a dairy allergy or a strict vegan watch out for the deep fried items as they deep fry milk (a desert)!!!! I also worry about mock meats from China containing whey (as they now mostly do) but the staff had never heard of whey and didn't seem to know it was a dairy product.... However sticking with beancurd, tofu, gluten and things pan-fried or steamed, it is quite delicious.

Wonderful atmosphere, can bring non-veg here! - Edit
It's worth the trip to go here if you live in Toronto and are used to only downtown eateries. This was the first vegetarian restaurant I felt comfortable bringing my family to after I changed my diet and remains one of my favorites for special occasions. The lemon "chicken" is the best I've ever had, even real chicken, the sauce is wonderfully tart and the mock meat very tasty. The hot pot is perfect in cold weather and I especially enjoyed having mock-fish, as a shellfish allergy has prevented me from eating them for 10 years. All the dishes I have had have ranged from good (mock duck skin) to fantastic ( ginger "beef", mixed mushrooms with noodles..)
Read moreThe room is spacious, beautiful and perfect for a romantic dinner and even more so for a family meal. The staff is very understanding and attentive, something I find lacking sometimes in other Chinese restaurants.
The food is not cheap but you can taste the quality. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, especially for the atmosphere.
Pros: Atmosphere, Delicious mock meats, large menu
Cons: Distance

My only complaint is that it's not Downtown! - Edit
Absolutely delicious, endless variety - i could eat there every day! I have never experienced such an incredible vegetarian dim sum experience. The mock meats are so tasty, and the portions are decently-sized for dim sum. Yes, the bill can add up, but it's totally worth it! It's one of favourite restaurants....wish I lived closer!
