Light and Fresh, all Vegetarian Indian Food - Edit
So probably the best vegetarian option in oak forest. They don't have a patio, but don't hold it against them. Or booze, but again still totally worth a visit. Go, spend like 12.00 and stuff your face:) more rambling about govinda's on my blog carnivoresandvegans.com
Read morePros: Delicious , Very light tasting for the type of cuisine , They have shredded beets on the salad bar!
Cons: No booze, No patio, I can't live there

Great lunch again - Edit
Third time enjoying the buffet today. Brought two coworkers and they loved it. About half the items were marked as vegan and many gluten free too. Fresh and not-too-spicy Indian and pasta dishes. The BBQ tofu was again my favorite. The pizza was new to me and my friends loved it. Go hungry and enjoy all you can. Glad since usually I would have to travel outside the area for vegan dishes, and even further for great Indian and Italian fare. New parking lot next to restaurant entrance.

Govinda's is a delicious vegetarian restaurant with vegan options labelled - Edit
Govinda's opened this summer at the ISKCON Hare Krishna temple in the Houston Heights. The facility was always worth a visit because of the beautiful architecture, and now it's definitely worth a visit since the opening of this vegetarian restaurant! They are opened for a lunch buffet and a dinner buffet with a mix of Indian and American cuisine. There is a small salad bar and about 8 hot offerings. Everything is labelled, and most of the offerings are labelled vegan. For the Indian cuisine I tried: Aloo Baingan (potato and eggplant), kidney bean curry, cauliflower pakora, papadum, tamarind sauce, and mint chutney. The cauliflower pakora was my favorite thing on the plate, and tasted amazing dipped in the tamarind and mint chutney. My second favorite was the aloo baingan, it was perfectly spiced and very filling. The interior is well decorated and very modern. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to vegans, because it is one of the few places in Houston that serves Indian food that labels items as vegan and you don't have to inquire about the ingredients!

Great food - Edit
I have gone twice to this very nice vegetarian restaurant. Food is served buffet style and all food is clearly labeled as to whether it is vegetarian or vegan. Many vegan options, actually more than vegetarian. The food was fresh and delicious. Definite Indian influence but they have had barbecue tofu and mixed noodles, in addition to other dishes, if you prefer diversity. Fresh cooked naan/tortilla brought to your table. It's got a nice quiet vibe and everyone is very friendly. Parking is behind the building with the entrance on Golf street. It's a part of the Hare Krishna temple so go through the back gates and past the temple. You will see the sign for Govinda's clearly. Lovely, lovely spot. Now going to be a regular stop for me.

Great Veg option! - Edit
Offers a lunch and dinner buffet with vegan/vegetarian options. All selections are labeled as vegetarian, vegan, gluten free. Lots of self-serve drink options. Super friendly people and delicious food! It is located within a complex, so park on Golf Ave and walk in through the gate.
