Una opción OK para El Paso - Edit
La comida del menú está 10 soles, nos toco sopa de lentejas con saltado de vainitas. A ambos les faltaba un poco de sabor, pero está OK.

Good lunch at a good price - Edit
I went on a Saturday afternoon in February 2022. I got the set lunch of the day and it included a bowl of lentil carrot soup along with the main plate that included whole grain rice and a mixture of potatoes carrots beans and peas. Also a drink was included. All of this for 8.5 soles. If you want to get the meal of the day, I was told that they serve that from 12:30 in the afternoon until approximately 4:00 p.m. or until they run out. At other times you can order a la carte from the menu. They may have changed their Wi-Fi policy because it was working at 2:00 in the afternoon when I went and they gave me the password with no problem.
Read moreI went back for dinner at 7 p.m. They didn't have much to choose from... fruit salad, juice, and one type of hamburger (seitan). I ordered the fruit salad which was very filling and the hamburger which turned out to be okay but it was massive and came with French fries. Actually, I don't really recommend the hamburger as it just seemed to be a bit oily, as were the French fries. But if you must have something vegetarian or vegan at dinner time then this is the only place in town, pretty much. Burger & fries 10 soles and fruit salad 9 soles.
I would recommend arriving no later than 6:30 p.m. for dinner because the one guy there has to do everything including cook your food and there are people coming in and out.
Definitely worth a stop when you are in Chiclayo Peru. Note that some of the exterior photos are from their previous location on the same street.

Great vegan meals - Edit
I went there in 2 different days and the food was excellent. The menu del dia is 8 soles and consists of soup, main and tea. If you are vegan, tell them you want a vegan version of the "segundo" as this might be vegetarian that day, but they can easily veganize it.

Tasty, but not much to choose from - Edit
Set-up menu (8 soles = 2,5 usd) included peanut soup, glass of tea and main plate (cauliflower with tomato sauce and integral rice). Same dish with white rice is 7 soles.
Read moreFood was delicious, but the portion could have been bigger. There was no other option to choose and after lunch there was no cake to order. Service was good.

Go before 5 pm - Edit
Govinda has 2 managers.
Read moreFrom lunch time to 5pm, a team of women runs it. Generous portions, fair prices. A bit long if you order à la carte. Could improve seasoning. Friendly service. No Wi-Fi
After 5 pm opens the juice bar time, run by a man. Then, there is WiFi.
They have a menu, but in general only juices and one burger are available on it and eventually what is left from the daily menu offered at lunch.
While the restaurant was empty, the guy literally took one hour to cook our food to take away (white rice and a piece of gluten tomates instead of salted vegetables in tomato sauce). Which was half the portion we'd have get 2 hours earlier for the same price (that we know because we took away food at lunch the day before, and the same box was full then). He didn't cooked what he promised and food wasn't good. Not to mention he cough on it several times.
I'd give 4 stars to the lunch team, but 2 to the night manager. So, finally 3
Pros: Menu is cheap 7 S
Cons: After 5 pm only go for a juice

Good, fresh and healthy menu. The best was the veggie tortilla. Nice stuff we could easily ask for vegan options! Menu was served really quick.

Good food and conversation, Very Convenient Location - Edit
I had one lunch of Indian Alu-Matar-Tamatar with Rice here on the day of arrival. Owner Madhavi was welcoming and has good conversation skills, albeit with limited English. Food was delicious. I also had two breakfasts here which were OK. If I had stayed longer in Chiclayo, I would definitely go back.

The cheapest option for a vegetarian menu in Chiclayo (5 soles) that included a soup, a main course and a beverage (very basic food). I didn't tried them but they also offer a selection of Indian and Peruvian food a la carte at a very low price, and a range of snacks (vegan biscuits) and veggie products (carne de soya, brown rice, and so on)
Pros: Very cheap

simple wholesome food, good value - Edit
The food is relatively simple and might be described as bit plain, however after typical 'vegetarian' food full of egg, cheese or oil, this is a welcome change. 5 soles for daily menu. Other dishes are 5-10 soles. great value, friendly service, only Spanish.

Good cheap food - Edit
Very similar to other South American vegetarian restaraunts with a daily 4.5 sole menu that can easily be made vegan. Also has cheap sandwiches, and interesting looking (we did not try them) Indian dishes for around 7 or 8 soles.

Vegetarian food with Spirit - Edit
Every Govinda branch has it's own character. This one is basic and on a busy road that is noisy and full of exhaust. But, it has great food at a cheap price. The staff is friendly but do not speak English. The set menu brings in the locals for lunch and dinner. The menu is mostly Peruvian dishes made vegetarian, but it also has a small Indian selection. Like most Peruvian restaurants it has terrible toilet facilities.
