I do not recommend - Edit
The owner made it a very unpleasant experience. She acts as she doesn’t even want customers to be there. I felt uneasy the whole time. She also doesn’t allow people to talk (I didn’t mind because I was alone), but there is a very loud cooking fan and lots of loud noises coming from the kitchen, so it didn’t make sense to me. That’s a pity because the food is good, but I wouldn’t go there again.

I Feel Conflicted - Edit
Overall, I would say I did not enjoy my experience here, although I can see how someone would.
Read moreAs people have mentioned it's very small and there's quite limited seating. They request single diners only and it is SILENT in there. For that reason, the atmosphere was very anxiety-inducing and sad for me, I prefer noisy, welcoming restaurants. But I get that that's part of the experience.
There is only one option for food, a set meal that is very veggie centric. If you're accustomed to traditional Japanese flavors/vegetables, you'll love it. Be prepared for things like soy pulp salad, bitter melon, and lotus root to be featured. If you aren't used to Japanese flavors I wouldn't recommend it.
The cake of the week which is offered for dessert was similar to a dense fruitcake with a drizzle of syrup. Left a bit to be desired.
I think you'd really like it here if:
1. You're alone and like silence
2. You're used to Japanese vegetables
3. You're very health conscious and like your food to taste healthy
If you don't meet all of those points, you probably won't have a great time. It wasn't for me.
Pros: Tiny-restaurant-in-Tokyo experience , Very healthy, Good for single diners
Cons: No variety in the menu, Very healthy tasting haha, Vibes of oppressive silence

During Covid they only accept solo diners and no talking while dining. Really healthy and filling lunch set with lots of fresh different flavors. 1100yen for a meal with lots of dishes that fills you up!

Surprised by the amount of food - Edit
As the title states, I wasn’t expecting to get so much food for the price. It was very delicious and I would like to go back again! In addition to cash, PayPay is also accepted.

Great option in Nakano - Edit
Great food and super affordable. They are only taking individual costumers for lunch during the pandemic, but you can take your bento takeout and go to a nearby park in case you are with someone else =]

Tasty healthy food - Edit
A bit hidden, but a cosy little restaurant with two tables and a bar disk where you can eat. Lunch set cost 1100 yen and dinner set cost 50yen more, very good price and taste incredible. Really tasty food and didn't taste as only "healthy" but was also filling and tasty.

Food for the soul - Edit
Heart warming food at a quite reasonable price (a bit less than 1,000 yen). Everything is well balanced and the plate has all flavors - sweet and sour pickles, tofu meats for main, and some Japanese sides. I went there twice and both times did not disappoint. The food takes time to prepare as it's cooked per order but the wait is definitely worth it.

Wedding food ;D - Edit
We actually ate there on the day we handed in our marriage papers at the Nakano ward office, and went back a few times after that. The food is always very good, though the lack of variety means I sometimes have to eat stuff I don't usually like - I tend to enjoy it anyway.

Lovely and nourishing - Edit
My favorite vegan restaurant of all the vegan restaurants I have tried across the world. I used to live nearby in 2015, came often & every meal was a precious moment I experienced. I went back in June 2018 and it was as perfect as I remembered. It is very nourishing, much care is put in our plates, the restaurant itself is lovely & the location brings a lot of peace.

Must visit in Tokyo - Edit
Located in a quite neighbourhood near nakano station. 5 bench table seats and 2 two sitter tables. Recommend to go there just on their opening time, noon and 6pm because not only seats are limited but also meals get sold out pretty quickly. The owner is not the most friendly person ever but her food is amazing. She changes menu everyday making everything there. Service can be slow when crowded but totally worth the wait. Desserts are super delicious and cheap as well. They have two types at a time changing, 200 yen per each. It's absolutely worth coming nakano just for their food/desserts. Definitely my favorite place to eat in Tokyo.

Great lunch. Prices have gone up a little since the description - lunch set was 1080¥ but still a great deal. Proprietress was not that friendly but maybe she's having a bad day. Still 10/10 would go again.

I loved this place! Food was really good and the one employee was very friendly and accommodating. She spoke English quite well. It honestly felt like I was eating dinner at a friends house. Would go back for sure.

Delicious - Edit
I had a very nice vegan dinner with my family here. The place is very small so it can get full fast. We were 5 people in total.... which is a lot for such a small place. The owner told us to come back in about an hour. We pre-ordered our food and when we came back it was ready for us. The food was just amazing!! The food is prepared heartfully by the owner, she does everything by herself. One of the best vegan food i had in Tokyo and i think it was one of the cheapest as well.

Beautiful meal - Edit
An easy walk from Nakano Station, Gopinatha is a really cute small space. It's run by lovely woman with good English. She took our order for the special dinner set then busied herself in the kitchen behind the counter, chatting happily with a local diner as she cooked. Not long after we were presented with a beautiful vegan meal. Definitely a place to put on your list!

Cozy space, great food - Edit
When you first enter, you notice that the space is small. It can squeeze in about 10 patrons max. You'll find a little bookshelf filled with Japanese books, and some English books - many about India and Indian temples. It is a one woman show here. The lady behind the counter was the waitress, barista, and chef. So, if it's packed, the service can be a little slow. But, it's worth the wait. I got an entire lunch set, which was a lot of food, for 1,000 yen. Just about 8 bucks. Every single thing on my plate was delicious, and it was all vegan. Their curry is also exceptional!

must-try - Edit
This restaurant is by far one of the best Vegan restaurants, especially considering its value, in all of Tokyo. It is extremely inexpensive by Japanese vegan standards, the chef makes your awesome meal right in front of you, and while utilizing simple ingredients, the taste is wonderful, flavorful, and warming.
