Vegan food and ice cream at the beach!! - Edit
What more could you want? Amazing food, delicious ice cream and soft serve, friendly staff, nice outdoor seating in the sun (and umbrellas at each table if you need them). Just a few blocks to the boardwalk and beach!

Food was so-so - Edit
This is a super cute corner restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Great spot to sit and eat ice cream and watch the people go by.
Read moreI ordered the buffalo cauliflower and hubby ordered the tacos. He did not like his food at all and my appetizer was just ok. My cauliflower turned soggy after sitting in the Buffalo sauce. Hubby also ordered the sweet green smoothie. It was probably the least to be desired. It's really unfortunate because the have a very cute place but not so good food.

Inventive and tasty vegan comfort food. - Edit
We loved all six of the several dishes our party split. The salt & vinegar potatoes were a large portion and perfectly seasoned. Cauliflower sandwich had an array of textures and great flavor. The caesar salad was excellent (we added avocado, which I recommend!). The "better" burger was hearty and tasty. The BLT (coconut, lettuce, tomato) was also full of flavor and had nice texture. Great nachos, too! The staff were very friendly and helpful, too. Glad we made the drive up from Avalon, and we look forward to returning!

Slice of heaven by the shore - Edit
Was staying in Ocean City for a week and ate here 3 times. Was hoping to get through more of the menu but due to seasonal hours I missed a few days. Everything I did have was phenomenal as well as gluten-free and by all accounts made by scratch...no spruced up Gardein here! (Not that there’s anything wrong with that 🤷🏻♂️) Highly recommend and hope to go back soon.

We loved Heart Beet! - Edit
The food looks “super crunchy and healthy” but it tastes like the “good stuff” hits all the spots. We ate here several times during our stay. No kids menu but our toddler got smoothies each time and was content.

So So - Edit
I have been excited to try this place for a while and was disappointed. The restaurant is not air conditioned so we walked in 90 degree weather into a restaurant that didn’t feel much cooler. There were many flies because of the open front window which bothered my children as they were eating. I enjoyed the buffalo cauliflower and BLT. My kids wanted smoothies but were told they were not allowed to order simple smoothies, like strawberry banana etc and instead had to choose an option off the menu. So, they opted for water instead. The menu is not kid friendly even for vegan kids. There is not a kid menu and the grilled cheese was not visually appealing or yummy. We did eat a tasty vegan treat while we waited for our meal. Oh and the bathroom was out of order while we were there.

I was so happy to find this terrific place! Came everyday during our trip. Lots of vegan options. I have a severe nut allergy and appreciated that they could accommodate it. Looking forward to coming back this summer!

Veganizing the Beach - Edit
It’s so nice to see more and more vegan options come to Ocean City! Heart Beet is in a great location- not too far from the board walk or the downtown area, and has enough seating to fit a decent crowd. The food is a bit expensive for myself (a college student on a budget), but the food is delicious and worth the money. I enjoyed my tempeh benedict, finding the flavor spot on for what I remember eggs benedict to be. I’m pleased overall! I’ll definitely be back.

Pricey, Small Servings (Breakfast Review) - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised that HeartBeet opened up in Ocean City, especially since we were heading there this Summer for vacation! On our first morning in OC, I took my family there. I hadn't been there before so I didn't know what to expect. I had heard very positive things about HeartBeet, but you never know until you try it for yourself. The $40 total cost for breakfast was hard to swallow for the amount of food we received. My in-laws wanted to join us -- which I SO appreciated their willingness to try something very different -- but I have to admit to feeling embarrassed after reflecting on the cost-to-value ratio. On our visit, they ran out of pancakes during breakfast and it wasn't even that late into the morning rush. Additionally, the inexperienced staff didn't keep track of who had what order. As a result, they gave away my father's order to a party who arrived after us. Despite the cost and portions, I'd still like to try a couple of the items on the Brunch and/or Main menus.

Great addition to OCNJ! - Edit
My family has been visiting OCNJ during the summer for about 20 years now. Since going vegan, eating out had been a bit of a challenge...well no more! I came here every day of our visit for tasty, healthy vegan food. My absolute favorites were the quinoa tacos and Cookie Monster smoothie. Close to the boardwalk, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Hope this place sticks around for years to come! As a note - they don’t give out free water to reduce use of plastic cups, but they kindly refilled our water bottles for us free of charge.

Game changer! - Edit
I made the drive from Margate to Ocean City hoping that the quality I get from location 1 made it to the shore. I was thrilled to find out that the shore location was awesome! I brought home the pizza, cauliflower bbq app, cauliflower sandwich and burger. My 81 yo mother in law, wife and I crushed everything in one sitting. The quality of food is just perfect. I could eat the bbq or hot sauce cauliflower all day. I like to mix the cauliflower app with my side of kale salad. The pizza with jackfruit is amazing. This just off the boardwalk experience is going to expose a lot of non vegans to a great meal. The service was perfect even though the place is only a few weeks live. The place was packed. If you go, just remember to be patient and positive. They are changing the game. BRAVO!!!!

Good but not great - Edit
Was so excited to check out this place but got slightly disappointed after today’s visit. I’ll start with negative: Quinoa tacos were dry, didn’t have any good flavor to them except brown quinoa taste. My friend had Blueberry Dates smoothie and it was a failure. Not sure what they put in but we berely tasted any blueberries or dates except something very strong that I wish I asked what was in it..but if a person who had never had a smoothie before and has tried it, they would never try a smoothie again in their life. People who were sitting next to us overheard us complaining about it and agreed with us as the had exactly the same smoothie!
Read morePositive: Portabello burger was a 5 star!! Wouldn’t change a thing! And kale salad that came with it was delicious!!! Buffalo cauliflower was amazing as well; can never go wrong with buffalo, and ranch dip that came with this starter was very good too!! And finally my friend had another starter - pizza, which was also great!
Even though we were dissapointed with the smoothie and quinoa tacos, I loved the rest of the food and would still recommend this place to anyone! Because plant based is a way to go everyone!!! I know my smoothies turn out [censored] sometimes so that’s okay but I’m hoping that they will reconsider this specific one (Blueberry dates) or switch some ingredients.
Finally, location is great and the place is super cute! Staff was very nice and friendly!!!
Pros: Location, STaff, Plant based

Pricey Food on Paper Plates and Bring Your Own Water! - Edit
We liked the food. When ordering I asked for water in a cup. I was told that the only water available was a "Box of Water" for $2.50. I asked why they didn't have cups with free water from the faucet which was in plain view. The reply was, "It's better for the environment." Uh. Ok? The wax cardboard water container is better for the environment than a paper cup? I'll get over it but felt like after spending $45 for lunch a free cup of water wasn't too much to give us. The food was pricey; especially for a place where you ordered at the window and ate off of paper plates.
