Disappointed - Edit
Came here based on the reviews, and I was highly disappointed in the food and price. I ordered the veg goulash. I have eaten only European (Polish, Hungarian) gulasz so that is what I was expecting. What I got was an overcooked macaroni noodle dish that was mixed in a pot with tomato sauce and some veg (carrot, celery). This was I think $25. Traditional gulasz is a stew or soup based on paprika and red pepper, and this was a very poorly prepared and done pasta dish with tomato and celery and no flavor. Among the disappointing food, the air conditioner was dusty and had a moldy smell.

Came twice in one day! - Edit
For lunch we split the mushroom wrap and black bean chili (minus sour cream.). Both were delicious!
Read moreFor dinner we ordered the Thai Peanut Pasta and the Panang Curry (they weren’t your traditional dishes of the two, but they were both unique and tasty.) Dinner also came with salad (loaded with veggies!) and homemade twisted bakery bread and our dishes both had a delicious side of corn on the cob. We actually both took most of the main dish home because the salad and bread were very filling!
It’s pricey, but the ingredients are super fresh and loaded with veggies. Worth it for sure!

A bit pricey but super good - Edit
Amazing pre-meal salad with bread and vegan margarine. We got the artichoke and garlic pasta and the Thai peanut pasta, both were delicious. The artichoke quite literally melted in your mouth. Two other vegan dishes that we will have to come back and try.
Read moreI saw another review that said the pies were vegan, our server said they weren't but perhaps they are accidentally vegan and she seemed not to think so because it was explicity marked as vegan.

Expensive, very tasty - Edit
Several vegan options, several vegetarian. Margarine alongside butter with bread. Bread salad filling before meal. Moderate portion sizes.
Read moreVery tasty raspberry jalapeno tofu (not much jalapenos though), unclear vegan/vegetarian - probably vegan. Vegan artichoke pasta was also very tasty.
For dessert, the pies (cherry, blueberry, perhaps others) are vegan, and they can make cappuccinos with almond milk.
Very good wait service!

Food good, portion small - Edit
The food was good and the staff were helpful. There were some vegetarian and vegan options that were labelled on the menu, but upon asking I was told that one of the "vegetarian" options was vegan as well, so that caused a bit of confusion. My dish was a small portion compared to that of the meat-eaters in my party, which was frustrating. All meals come with bread and an incredible salad, though, so that helped. It was the only vegan option I could find in the area.

Cute little restaurant - Edit
We were excited to find some vegan items on the menu. My husband had the vegan chili with a loaf of fresh braided wheat bread. Bread was awesome. The beans in the chili could have been cooked a bit longer for my tastes but my husband really enjoyed it. I had the mushroom wrap. It was really good but had more roasted veggies than mushrooms. There were some vegan breakfast items (tofu scrambles) we would’ve liked to have tried but we missed the breakfast hours. They have outdoor seating which was nice. We’d go back.

Good staff, ok options - Edit
There aren’t many vegan options in Glen Arbor. I had the raspberry jalapeño tofu and was expecting a thicker panko coating. It was more like a few slabs of tofu marinated with breading falling off. Partner had the lemon pasta with coconut milk, which was ok. Not entirely worth it for the price, but good service and salad and bread in a pinch.

Amazing tofu didh - Edit
Had the Jalapeño Raspberry Planko Crusted tofu. I have eaten at several all vegan restaurants in my lifetime but never have I had such delicious tofu dish. They give you 3 large slices of tofu and the seasoning is perfection. The jalapeño is mild, the coating is so crunchy while the tofu texture Inside is perfection! Side veggies were fresh tasting. They give you this large bowl of salad filled with lots of goodies- not just salad greens. Everything was great. Found nothing else in the area to compare. I’d give it 5 stars except menu wasn’t all vegan.

Best staff and many vegan options - Edit
The soup of the day today was vegan tomato rice and I was trying to pick between that and vegan chili and without me asking the waitress went to get me a sample so I could decide. I went with chili in the end bc I wanted beans - which was very filling and had three different types of beans. Next time I want to try the hummus veggie wrap😄

Three stars for being the only breakfast place - Edit
The tofu scramble is just some warmed up tofu and veggies. It was fine, and nice to have a hot breakfast after a weekend of backpacking, but it’s nothing special. That said, it was a very cute restaurant with good coffee and incredibly efficient service on a holiday weekend. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, but it’s not bad

Not a veggie burger! - Edit
Chili marked vegan without sour cream and cheese on menu, which is awfully nice. The chili is good, not great, but I was grateful that it was something in the area that wasn’t a veggie burger. Service was okay, not great, but we loved the outdoor seating on the street.

Vegans beware - Edit
In town for a wedding and needed something vegan for breakfast nearby. It was 30 min wait for the to-go meal. This place had tofu scramble on the menu and non-dairy milk options so we thought we were set, but the meal was almost inedible and ended up being more than $60. The tofu scramble is just chunks of tofu, barely seasoned and looked nothing like scrambled eggs. We ordered oatmeal as a backup with almond milk (they were out of soy) and it tasted like nothing, completely bland. The staff was friendly and the fresh fruit was fine, but we were very disappointed.

Food and service was great. Chili is vegan if you leave the sour cream off. Our waitress was helpful with the vegan suggestions.

Very limited vegan options - Edit
Very disappointed. Made a 2 hr trip here only to find out it's typical thinking inside the vegan box food. Only possibilities were the veggie wraps or sandwiches. The black bean burger is NOT vegan as it contains egg white. The only dressing that's vegan is the lemon basil. I wound ordering the bowl of veggie chili (hold the sour cream and cheese). Which included corn and blue tortilla chips. A somewhat strange combination in my mind. The chili was OK, not great but at least it had a mild kick to it.
Read moreService was horrendous. 3 tables sat down after I placed my carryout order and they got their food before me. There were 3 waitresses, all of which seemed to hand me off to someone else. First it was the busser who said she didn't know anything about the menu. Then the first waitress was too busy to answer my questions so she passed me to another server. Who promptly passed me to another. Who took my order and money very promptly and then ignored me for a good 15 minutes. Why it took that long to place 2 scoops of chili in 2 take out containers and throw in some tortilla chips, I'll never know.

Lunch break on Heritage Trail Bike Route - Edit
We stopped for lunch two days we were in Sleeping Bear Dunes. On one of the days, we were passing by while riding the Heritage Trail bike route. The food is fresh and tasty. The dill havarti cheese had microbial rennet. The service was good too.

Paradise in Northern Michigan - Edit
Fresh fruit bowl, organic coffee, fresh baked Good Harbor coffee cake, their own cherry-cinnamon coffee cake, pancakes (blueberries, cherries or golden raisin cakes), waffles, oatmeal and granola with Silk soy milk, you can get all this with a side of veggie sausage! I've found vegetarian paradise.
