Oh so good! - Edit
Not fully vegan but really celebrates veggies. All veggie options are vegan by default but then there’s a meats section.
Read moreV friendly service. Loved the mushrooms! Loved the playfulness of the menu. It is a little pricey but comparable to London restaurants. I’d want the chilli plate to be cheaper to allow us to add variety in flavours to the cauliflower for example. Deffo get the bread basket to soak up all the amazing flavours.
Pros: Celebrates veggies, Varied menu, Veggie dishes vegan by default
Cons: Serves meat

Excellent meal in the city - Edit
These were obviously created by a chef! The way they were plated and the thought that went into every dish was evidently created by a professional! The labneh is a must try, if you’re only getting one thing, get it!

Too expensive - Edit

Quite tasty but pricy for Budapest - Edit
Goli Restaurant had a lot of vegan options. I was recommended the Smoked Cauliflower for it’s portion size. It did not disappoint. But the prices did. We ordered six meals, 2/6 were bread and labneh. It came out at 80 euro. Atmosphere and service was good though.

Would give 5 stars if I could - Edit
WOW - what a great find! Goli is an excellent restaurant, the (vegan) food is incredible, the staff are wonderful and it is well priced. The menu is fully vegan, aside from approx 5 meat dishes and all of the cocktails are vegan too. The staff are extremely well versed in the vegan options and the head chef, Harel, is vegan. We visited twice in 3 days and tried as many dishes as we could - this place will be top of my list if I visit Budapest again. The dishes are mostly designed to share and we ordered around 5 between two which was perfect - the vegan labneh is to die for! The restaurant can get quite busy in the evenings so reservations are recommended. If Mediterranean cuisine is your thing then Goli is a MUST when in Budapest - a true gem!

The BEST vegan labneh 😍 - Edit
I did takeaway twice from Goli because I was on a time crunch and also because the restaurant is quite loud in the evenings. So I imagine the food quality would be even better fresh when served in house. But my takeaway was delicious, still dreaming about the vegan labneh 🤤 (Truthfully, I’ve never found a place that makes vegan labneh but I’d highly recommend this place to try it for the first time!). The second time I ordered it for takeaway it was a bit oily but it was also during a heat wave so the slight change in consistency may be due to that environmental factor rather than a reflection of the restaurant quality itself. The bread bag (which includes 1 pita and 1 slice of sourdough) was also very fresh. The other dishes I ordered were small-ish portions: the charred eggplant (only so-so, was quite charred which infused a heavily smoky flavor), oyster mushrooms and polenta (tasty!), and the tomato/cucumber salad (good flavor but a bit oily).

The labneh is amazing, the chocolate mousse dessert tastes like pure Ferraro rocher goodness and the rosata cocktail is delicious. Would recommend everything on the menu, we’ve nearly tried it all 😝
Pros: So many vegan options , Great cocktails , Nice casual service

MUST TRY - super creative vegan dishes. Count it as a 5 star for me! - Edit
Amazing refined dining experience in Budapest — everything other than the meats are vegan, and the dishes were, quitr frankly, astounding. I was told that one of the founding chefs used to run a fully vegan restaurant, which explains the creativity!
Read moreHighlight of the dinner was 100% the Labneh, made of soy yoghurt. It was by far the best labneh I’ve ever had in my life, vegan or not. I also highly recommend the fried vegan cheese dessert. I’ve never had anything quite like it!!! The roasted beetroot and mushroom with polenta were also remarkable.
Even though it’s not a fully vegan restaurant, it was star tier vegan gastronomy. 100% would recommend.
