Very missed - Edit
New owners ruined it but hopefully vegan options return at some point.

NO LONGER VEGAN - Edit
Unfortunately changed owners and nothing on the menu is fully vegan, they can make one option vegan. Super sad because it used to be a wonderful vegan joint 😢

Needs more stars! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - Edit
I can’t overhype this spot. It was the perfect mountain town ‘third place’ diner. There’s an attached saloon. The owner is behind the cash register.
Read moreIt has four cuisines because the chefs all cook what they know and love. One loves Jewish food, one loves Mexican food so both are available. And I adore that. I could eat a different something here for ages.
There isn’t a bad thing on the menu and the active approach to inclusion is palpable. Everyone is here. The line goes out the door often, but they are served swiftly.
Pros: Fully vegan, Perfect community atmosphere, Incredible variety

6 Star Diner - Edit
A cozy community hub with a wild variety of flavors for where this is located. The food was excellent, the staff seems to not be overworked, and the clientele are beautifully varied. Can't recommend enough.

Absolutely amazing! - Edit
This is a great find! They can accommodate multiple food allergies as well as being completely plant based. Be sure to read the history on the menu as well as the reason for this being a plant based restaurant. The staff is friendly, the food options are plenty, and they even have a multitude of desserts, juices, chai and coffee

It’s sad to say but this is no longer vegan. It doesn’t even appear that any of the dishes can be made vegan. What a shame! This used to be a great vegan restaurant.

Best meal of my LIFE - Edit
Knowing I was going to be in Leadville, I researched places with food I could eat, as I’m plant-based and gluten-free. I looked at the website and menu of Golden Burro and was very excited to try some of their food when I arrived in Leadville. I had the best meal of my LIFE! I ate at Golden Burro 3 times in a 24 hour period. The menu is extensive and packed with delicious foods! Golden Burro is a must for vegan visitors in the area!

Made us wish we lived in Leadville - Edit
Everything vegan! The menu was extensive with traditional diner foods, burgers, mexican food, pasta, just a huge variety (plus soo many pastries and ice cream). It was actually overwhelming to choose something haha! Vegan junk food really hit the spot after climbing Mt. Elbert.

Gem! - Edit
What an oasis of an all vegan spot in the middle of the mountains. Didn’t think we’d find such accessible vegan food in Leadville, but here it is. Awesome old cafe decor and rad marquee out front. Service was friendly. Had the chicken salad and oh boy was it tasty. Love the addition of grapes in the salad, it was like finding this gem of a place in the middle of something already great.

Wished I had two stomach! - Edit
Both breakfast burrito and omelet were so delicious! There were plenty of veggies and the portion was big enough for a very early breakfast. The best part about this restaurant for me is that their food wasn’t too salty. The latte and drip coffee tasted great as well. Considering the processed plant based protein or cheese, it might not be so healthy but we were grateful to have this kind of restaurant!

Not as good as it looks. - Edit
Saw the great reviews, been craving a rubin sandwich, that's it. Stopped in on a Sunday around 11:15, lunch didn't start until 11:30. Very polite staff let me sit wherever and wait until the kitchen changed.
Read moreI wanted to try the maitake mushrooms but the server told me they were some kind of chunk product and not just fried mushrooms. She recommended the cauliflower wings instead and they were quite good. They were served with some celery carrots and what looked very much like ranch dressing but tasted, well, nothing.
The Reuben sandwich was very small, two pieces of fake meat that looked like corned beef but didn't taste like anything at all. The cheese was gummy and bland. Surprisingly the sauerkraut was also bland, and the thousand island dressing looked authentic but didn't taste like anything at all.
Given the above I probably would have the golden burro 4 stars, but I was surprised when the bill came. The server made it a point to tell me the total of my bill without showing it itemized. I added a generous tip and asked for the receipt. Only then did I realize that the original amount included a 5% service fee. I looked at the fine print on the menu and felt bamboozled. See photo attached.

Treats in Leadville - Edit
Everything is vegan, what a dream come true😄
Read moreIn 2 days, we ate there twice - tried the cauliflower wings with buffalo sauce, loved it. The breading is nice and crispy, they also give you celery sticks and ranch. Philly Cheesesteak with au jus was my fave - recommended by our very sweet waitress, a Reuben - with incredible fries - both these sandwiches are delicious! Their coleslaw is sooo good - it had old school vibes to me. So delicious. We also went in just for pastries after they had been closed for brunch, and tried an apple raisin streudel and chocolate pecan pie, highly recommend. Grateful to have vegan options while visiting Leadville! 🙏🏻❤
Pros: So much to choose from , Everything is vegan , Offered pastries even after they closed
