Hearty lunch for less than $4! - Edit
Golden Bamboo (Zolotoy Bambuk, Tre Vàng) is a family owned authentic Vietnamese café with vegan options and unbeatable pricing. The choice is somewhat limited (basically, apart from sprout salad you can have tofu with rice or stir-fried noodles; sadly, no soups) but still great for everyday lunch.

Extremely short waiting time! Really nice and friendly staff but hardly speaking any English. AFAIK, the menu is printed only in Russian but illustrated at least. Just ask for tofu.
Also worth mentioning: Vietnamese filter coffee, imported Vietnamese fruit drinks and beer.
Pros: generous portions, really fast, friendly staff
