Odd experience - Edit
Food was okay but everything seemed a bit off--server was apologizing about the dishes after looking at them despite us not complaining (???), WAAAY too spicy for requesting medium

Amazing every time - Edit
My friends and I have gone here multiple times and no matter what I've ordered I've thoroughly enjoyed the food. The dishes are great on Average. My least favorite dish was still really tasty and satisfying. The ramen is great but I think the sushi is where the true magic is at. Absolutely in love. On the pricy end but well worth it.

All vegan ramen - Edit
This place is misleading because it’s called “vegetarian ramen,” but the waiter confirmed everything on the menu is vegan. It’s a super small place and the service was so-so, but the ramen was delicious. The best things we tried were the jalapeño ramen and the dry stir fry udon noodles. The broth had great flavor with charred jalapeños in it. The curry was fine, not my favorite. The extra spicy udon was also okay, just not as flavorful as the jalapeño ramen. They also have lots of sushi options, so I will definitely be back.

The sushi rolls are good… - Edit
I have been meaning to try this place for a while now. I have to say that the sushi rolls were very good. I recommend the spicy tuna roll and the popcorn vegan roll. I wasn’t too impressed by the ramen. I had the Beyond Ramen which was decent, but I have had better ramen at other places. The menu is extensive, so I would definitely come back to try some of their rice dishes.

The crunchy shrimp roll and the heart attack appetizer are absolutely delicious. We ordered so much food so that we could take some home. This is now our go to restaurant in LA!

Gokoku is Worth the Visit! - Edit
Whether dine in or take out, the food is always flavorful. The fried cauliflower is one of my favorites. Vegan sushi isn’t my thing, but from what I’ve tried here, it does deceive you to almost tasting like real fish. This place is known for their ramen, dine in for it when you get a chance. Did take out but their food is way better fresh and while it’s still warm.

Ramen and definitely sushi - Edit
I was craving sushi and surprised by how impressive the veg sushi selection is at this ramen place. Everything I ordered (and it was a lot) was very good! I tried three rolls, the bao, and some broccoli and it was all amazing.

The food was okay. The soup was a little salty and the eggplant dishy was greasy. I loved the sushi. Might go back to this place just for sushi rolls.

One of the best in LA - Edit
With so many vegan/veggie places opening in LA, this still stands out as one of the best. One of the most varied and creative menus for Asian food lovers. It’s overwhelming every time we visit, and we always end up too full!

food BOMB but service/cleanliness bad - Edit
ok this place has bomb ass sushi and ramen. one of my fave spots BUT everytime i’ve gone, the dishes you get still have like a crust on them or the service is like exasperated that you ask them to wipe the table down. like ok… i would just order takeout but they use like all plastic and i’d rather use so much trash.

Beyond Ramen is insane! I had to pace myself. The broth is so delicious. The bowl is packed with fresh vegetables, beyond meat and tender noodles. Just too good. A must try.

Eating here was a great experience. The food was delicious and they are actually all vegan, I think, except for an egg that you have to special request for the ramen soups.

I really liked the consistency of the ramen and the ramen noodles. The staff was really nice also. My partner wasn’t as impressed but I’ll definitely be trying it again. The crispy rice vegan spicy tuna was pretty good. I picked fan favorites to be safe.

So Much Flavor and Texture!!! - Edit
I love sushi, but I'm always left wanting, comparing my simple and boring (avocado roll, cucumber roll, etc.) sushi to everything else on the menu that is creative, sauced, and sometimes even tempura fried. Gokoku's tempura California roll made my mouth so happy that I didn't want to drink anything for hours after my meal. It was full of flavor and warmth! Since everything is vegan, it was a pleasure to know I could order anything -- and they had quite a variety. My husband ordered the spicy udon ramen and, although it was super spicy (and we like spicy), the flavor was spot on. We also shared a spicy tofu appetizer, which was perfect in every way.

This is my go to ramen spot. Wood Ear mushrooms come standard and therefore it is #1 in my heart stomach. The sushi is also bananas!! Super cute, fun, casual vibe. Come hungry. Come with friends so you can order too much and share everything. The chef owner is super inspiring with her fitness and bodybuilding journey and makes some of the best comfort food in the city.

I was happy to try this place. Sushi was good. Ramen was extremely salty(level 12) where I didn't want to have the liquid. Service was ok, though she had to go back to the boss and to answer my simple questions.
