Our Favorite Vegan Food!! - Edit
While Gojo does have some meat on the menu, which disqualifies them from the 5-star rating they deserve, they specialize in delicious vegan dishes. We have been enjoying their vegan offerings for over a decade and are officially addicted to their incredibly delectable food. The vegan platter is a veritable mini-buffet of hearty lentil stews, cabbage, salad, collards, and other beautifully prepared plants, all fresh, nutritious and full of flavor. I don't know how they get such a satisfying umami into their dishes, but for vegan food, it can't be beat for flavor.
Read moreThere's no other cuisine quite like Ethiopian food, with its fun, hands-on eating technique, and their location in Eastown is easy to get to, with other enjoyable establishments nearby.
Gojo serves up wonderfully tasty food that pleases taste buds and nourishes the body. I strongly suggest you give it a try!

Ethiopian And Vegan Go Hand in Hand - Edit
Ethiopian is famous for its delicious and plant-friendly options and Gojo Ethiopian Cuisine does not disappoint. For my birthday, I wanted to try this restaurant, and I am glad that I did. There are plentiful options for vegetarians, taking a whole third of the menu, and thanks to the kind and friendly server, we learned that all the vegetarian options on the menu are also vegan.
Read moreMy party of two ordered the super vegetarian combo course -- that included all of the vegan options. This is absolutely the route to take if you want to have the full, flavorful experience. This way you are bound to find something, if not many somethings, that everyone can enjoy. I do not usually comment on portion sizes because I feel American dinning has inflated expectations, but I will say that I was surprised about the amount of food that was offered for the price.
The atmosphere is fun and thematic. Even going so far as to construct the verisimilitude of a straw hut around the cash register. It might be seen as kitsch, but I think it adds to the charm.
Lastly, they offer a traditional Ethiopian tea service that looked fun; however, we opted not to partake this evening, hopefully we will next time we visit.
Pros: Many vegan options, Price for groups, Fun atmostphere
Cons: Not entirely vegan

Amazing Vegan Ethiopian Spread - Edit
The veggie platter (all vegan) is large and full of many diverse options. The injerra is a sourdough base, and they keep it coming as long as you need. Veggie options are in their own labeled section. Definitely recommend the super vegetarian combo, tons to share (bring your friends) and I always leave with leftovers. Friendly staff, great location. The Ethiopian tea is lovely as well!

This place was amazing and the staff was very friendly. I took my girlfriend here for a date and we got the vegetarian sampler and we didn't even know how to eat the food until the waitress explained how to. I could not recommend this restaurant more.

Excellent Service - Edit
I'd like to start the review with the fact that this restaurant recently changed ownership.
Read moreThe staff was incredibly friendly. We went with a mixed group including a newborn. Some had never tried Ethiopian food before. The menu and style of eating was explained and the owner even helped our friends decide what to order based on their personal preferences.
The food was amazing! Everyone was satisfied with their meals. The restaurant was clean and the staff were clean and professional.
We will definitely be returning.

Very Bad. - Edit
Good location in eastown, but not a good place to eat. The place was freezing, dirty and unkept. The service was ok. But we had a gruopon( prepaid coupon) they had a small buffet for a low price that we apparently couldn't eat off of so we ordered a over 20.00 meal for two. Every item on the menu was very pricey. After a series of microwave beeps the owner brought out food to the buffet. Then scooped off food onto our plates from it! We got 3 of the items from buffet. It was not great at all. A much better and cheaper place is Little Africa they are very good.
