Cool Experience - Edit
What an amazing place! Like everyone has said, the staff is deaf and so there is a lot of pointing! But I got to taste everything before choosing. Unlike a couple comments, they showed me that the waffle bowl is not vegan, so I didn’t get that. I tried mamey and coconut! Absolutely perfect.

A real treat - Edit
All vegan ice cream and related foods! The service was fabulous - just point to the flavor you’d like to try and you’ll get to sample. We had Oaxaca chocolate and Rojas fruits, passion fruit and pineapple sorbets, some kind of donut flavor. All delicious! And the store was so bright, colorful with all kinds of art on the walls. Even though I don’t know any sign language, the gal at counter was able to anticipate my requests and the service was wonderful.

Love place for vegan ice cream in Oaxaca. It was across the street from our Airbnb so that was amazing. The staff was very friendly and helped us with ordering.

Inspiring business with fantastic vegan flavors - Edit
Highly recommend this amazing business! 100% vegan ice cream (including the cones!), nieves, and popsicles! Delicious and creative flavors including ginger/coconut charcoal and Oaxacan chocolate.
Read moreAlso, this is more than just great ice cream. Jorge and his family are such kind souls. They employ, for example, deaf people and other folks who may have trouble finding work. (You can write your order on a piece of paper, no problem). We also had the pleasure of meeting Jorge’s girlfriend Liz, who helped us by answering our questions in English. The flavor we wanted wasn’t there because they had a stall at a little market in the city center that day, and they had already brought that flavor to the stall. So what did Liz do? She gave us— 2 complete strangers— a ride in her car to the market, so we could order that flavor!!! This level of hospitality and kindness is just something you don’t experience often, and it is a travel memory that we will be talking about for many years.
Did I mention the ice cream is delicious?!
I can’t recommend this place enough. Just go😄

Nondairy ice cream by sign language or writing? Yes please! - Edit
I wanted to check this place out because one of my besties uses ASL to communicate when they can for autism reasons. They would be so excited to go! The ice cream was excellent. I tried four flavors and settled on champurrada, coconut, and pineapple in syrup on top.
Read moreThere was an animated conversation with four people happening at the table next to me in sign language. I decided to ask a staff member (for my friend) if the shop hosts regular public chats where people can come to talk to others in sign language. I never quite got an answer to that question, but I did meet the founder Rolando Siguenza. (He was one of the people at the next table.) He happened to be in town from Mexico City, and he told me he teaches remotely for two universities in the US as well as teaching in CDMX. He was very friendly and glad to connect with whoever wanted to reach out to him.
Pros: Excellent non dairy ice cream, Excellent staff/founder
Cons: Not sure if they have sign language chats or not

Decent ice cream, toppings included - Edit
I had the mojito lime and Oaxaca chocolate flavours. They were decent, not great. I found the consistency a bit off and not really creamy. The toppings were delicious, and they’re included in the price. Two giant scoops cost me ~$50 MXN. Given how positive all the other reviews are, I wonder if I just got the wrong flavours. That said, I love that it’s a fully vegan ice cream shop. More than fair prices. Definitely worth a visit.

This place is doing it right! - Edit
Everything here is vegan. They make the ice creams and sorbets in house. While we were there we watched them peddle on a bike that was churning the ice cream. Scoops are huge, toppings are included and flavors are seasonal! We love everything about this place! They employ deaf locals and sell their art in the shop.

They do have some dairy flavors (I think that's what the black image is) in addition to around 6 flavors of vegan treats.

Cons: I wish there was a dark chocolate vegan option
