Amazing vegan food

This vegan spot, located in a neighborhood food market in Denver, served some of the tastiest food I have eaten in Colorado and beyond. Highly recommend for both vegan and non-vegan foodies.

A must-try for fancy food

I’ve had some of my best Italian pasta & gnocchi dishes here, and they’re filled with high quality ingredients. The rest of the menu is very vegetable forward and creative. I really enjoy their balance between healthy and indulgence. This is actually fine dining served fast and casual

Pros: High Quality Ingredients , Italian, Value

They know me by name…

That’s how often I eat here and how great their customer service is. Their food is amazing, I have never eaten something I didn’t enjoy.

Remember to order 2 Ruben sandwiches. One for you and one for your most skeptical friend.

Pros: Creative Plant based Ingredients/dishes, Good quality foods, Customer service

Cons: I have to drive about an hour from my home, Not open for breakfast, I will have to direct deposit my paycheck to them

Best in CO

Wow! Everything here is just excellent. The gnocchi and the Reuben are both the best of each I’ve ever had.

I’ve brought (open-minded) non-vegans here and they loved it. I’d recommend this to anyone in Denver.

Good food, fun market!

Only tried Gladys once so far, but it was good! I got a "see food" pasta and giant cookie. Filling and flavorful!

Delicious!

My husband and I both had the Reuben and loved it. Generous size, so no sides needed. I also had a mushroom cola. It tasted like good sparkling water. The workers were all very friendly.

Yum

My favorite part about Gladys is they aren’t doing ANYTHING the other vegans spots are doing. Their food is great- packed with flavor, and an amazing balance of seasoning. This is such a hidden gem, I love it so much.

Awesome!

We got the See-Food pasta, the winter fricassee, and an order of brussels sprouts. Oh and a sea salt/chocolate chip cookie. Everything was delicious! Can't wait to go back.

Didn’t have time to take a picture!

The Reuben was delicious! So creative and I really appreciate that they are creating delicious and fun vegan food with whole vegetables. One of those places where you want to try the entire menu and wish you had multiple stomachs… will just have to come back! Also the staff are so kind!! All around 10/10 experience.

Pros: Whole Foods, Affordable, Staff

Nobody Puts Gladys in a Corner

Gladys can be found tucked in the northwest corner of the lively Edgewater Market, an unassuming epicenter for assorted vegan eats.

On my first visit I ordered the most scrumptious iteration of any reuben I’ve had to date. Spawned from the celery root of all things, it stands heads and shoulders above a crowd of tempeh, tofu, and portobello varieties.

The second visit, the gnocchi, my god. While I tend to gravitate toward dumplings, including those of Italian origin, these particular potato-stuffed pillows were paired with a bolognese red and a cooling dollop of herbaceous cream. A perfect balance? You gnow it!

The above choices will likely change. No problem. That the menu seems to rotate to ongoing acclaim just illustrates the talent and dexterity of this kitchen.

Gladys doesn’t need to be front and center. I’m convinced that these delicious, innovative, gourmet plates could be served forth from any front - from food truck to back alleyway to under the gd staircase at #4 Privet Drive - and still retain its magic.

I cannot wait to see what you do from here, Gladys. As for the rest of you beautiful people, get some Gladys while the Gladys is hot. Don’t miss it.

I Have to Go Back!

The reviews were right! This place is amazing - great food and great people. I couldn't decide what to try first, so decided on the Reuban. Yummy. But now I want to try all the others, so I have to go back.

My non-vegan daughter had a bite of my sammy and loved it.

Located in a fun food hall with food choices for everyone. My choice will always be Gladys.

Wonderful lunch after skiing with family

Had 3 super dishes. The Gnocchi, the Rueben and the fricasse. Also had Brussels sprouts as a side. Wonderful flavors and our son loved the Gnocchi.

Pros: Great flavors , Cool location , Friendly staff

Excellent food, excellent people

I travel for work a lot and I have my favorite vegan spots in every city I go to. Gladys is not only my favorite in Denver, it also rivals the #1 spot for favorite anywhere I’ve been so far. The Reuben sandwich is excellent - I wasn’t even big into Reuben sandwiches before going all plant-based, but somehow this hits every spot. Get that and the carrot broccoli soup - dip that in that, enjoy your life. Also they’re really passionate about their ingredients and get excited to incorporate new locally sourced ingredients into new recipes — and they always have new stuff, seasonal items, rotating menu (though the Reuben and soup are always there). This has quickly become the place I almost always come to for dinner when I’m in town for a night. So much so that they recognize me now, and I don’t live in Colorado.

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly people, Constantly changing menu

High quality & fresh for a price

Gladys is a food stand in a warehouse-turned trendy food court. Great place to stop if with non-vegans as there are lots of other great options for them in the vicinity. But the food at Gladys is so good they’ll be silly not to eat here. I had the Reuben. It’s an interesting and rewarding spin on the sandwich. But it will cost a bit.

Best in CO

Honestly, this was the best vegan fare I've had in CO. The Reuben was unbelievable as were the fried green tomatoes. 11/10.

Pros: Everything

Cons: Maximum capacity of my stomach

Get yourself a Ruben

Located in Edgewater market (access to more vegan food, including ice cream, and zero waste stores, craft shops galore).

I always get a dark chocolate cookie and the Ruben because those just can’t be beat! And then take a friend to split something new off the seasonally rotating menu!

Great indoor or outdoor seating. Or take it to go and walk around Sloan’s lake just two blocks over.

Pros: Ruben. Seriously., Fully vegan, Awesome social space

Fast Foodie Vegan Cuisine

I agree with the reviewer who said these folks should have their own restaurant space, and that’s for two reasons. One is that the food is worthy of finer dining, and the other is that their use of “disposable” serving ware here (a fact of life in the food court) dissuades us from coming more often, just because of the waste factor.

Should you find yourself here, the gnocchi is top-notch, and so are the fried artichokes (though on my most recent visit they weren’t on the menu). The Rueben is excellent, with its “meat” made from celery root, which is much better than processed soy/gluten meat substitutes (in terms of taste, texture, and health). The fried polenta is good if you don’t mind it a little dry (better as a shared side than as a meal).

Counter service is friendly. The Edgewater food court is a food court, albeit with a dash of hipster flavor. For our taste, the best way to eat here is to order take-out and bring your own reusable containers.

Enjoy!

💯

Ruben was unhinged. I would have normally gotten something else, but it was easily the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Nothing needs to be added. Pepper swirl around a perfect faux meat sour mayo bread combo. The bread dude. It can make or break a Sando, and this monster redefines my standard. Unbelievable sturdy crust, light but durable exterior with plenty of pockets to let the dressing and oils fill the inside of the sandwich. The last few bites are bliss. Cannot recommend enough. This will be a mandatory first and last meal every time I visit from now on.

Pros: Perfect spice/sour/bread ratio, Plenty filling

I need a bigger stomach

Everything on the menu looked delicious, and I found myself wanting to order it all.
I settled on the potato wedges appetizer and the tofu fricassee.
This was the best preparation of tofu I've ever had.
Well worth the drive from Silverthorne, and I'll be back often.
