Amazing food and place - Edit
The food is delicious and comes from their garden outside the restaurant. The dishes are hyper customisable and veganism is clearly understood and extremely well catered for. The lovely owner, Gan, will help you decide. She also let us try some alcohol that was DEFINITELY street legal. The setting is picturesque. Rock bottom (relative to foreigners) prices for top quality food. Only disadvantage is they do serve meat (and I wholeheartedly agree with Happy Cow's ratings policy on this issue) and also the Black House is very heavily centred on dead animals, so can't really combine visits. But the restaurant is well worth the trip in its own right (we went twice). A must go.

The best restaurant in Chiang Rai, must go 💚 - Edit
The best place in Chiang Rai. Not only the owner cooks accordingly to your preferences but they also use everything from their own garden and it is organic. I would love to have such restaurants in other cities, too. Amazing food and a very nice owner. Also great prices and great choice for everyone including vegetarians and vegans.

What a gem! - Edit
This farm to table restaurant is behind the (terrible) baandam. It's a literal farm to table, meaning they go and pick up the vegetables they will cook for you. They speak English and perfectly understand vegan. They reopened just a month after the covid lockdown. They are a lovely happy family and they will warm your heart. The owner and chef is actually vegetarian and she has two pet pigs

Five stars!!! - Edit
Would give this five stars, but it won't allow me because it's not all veg. This gem is truly awesome! Farm to table fresh veggies and a lovely family run business. You can take a look around the farm and it's super cheap. Menu is extensive and is vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free friendly.

Amazing vegan food and people! - Edit
I wanted to give this place a 5 star rating but happy cow wouldn’t let me because it’s not all vegetarian/vegan. However, their list of menu items for vegans is more extensive than many fully vegan restaurants we’ve been to. We absolutely loved their pad see yew, Tom yum, spring rolls, fried banana, salted coconut milk with mango/peanuts/sesame seeds, pad Thai, yellow curry, fried morning glory and so much more! They cater to your spice level and any other preference or food allergy you may have. The atmosphere is beautiful and all but just a few vegetables and fruits are sourced from their huge garden right there! It is owned by the kindest, caring family ever who treat you like you’re family. The head cook is a fellow animal lover who has a pet pig named June who sleeps in bed with her on his own pillow 😂🙏🏼 We went here as many times as we could during our three day stay in Chiang Rai- This place is truly a hidden gem and we cannot wait to come back!

A book of a menu, which was a bit overwhelming, but the server came to help us. Very big on customizing. Yellow curry noodles and pad see ieew were excellent. Lovely setting and close to Black House. Also great Thai iced tea, you can control the sweetness!

Green Curry with Vegetables - Edit
This farm to table style restaurant made me feel confident in eating a clean meal while touring in Thailand. You are able to pick type of starch, protein, sauces, spices and vegetables according to your liking. You can walk around farm and see vegetable gardens, chickens, and ponds. Free WiFi, and friendly staff. Gluten-free options should be marked on menu for peace of mind.

Delightful! - Edit
Totally customisable menu. The menu was huge and it can all be made vegetarian and most vegan. You can also tailor exactly how sweet you want your drinks and how spicy you want your food. We got to sit next to the water feature and koi pond. The staff were so lovely and spoke great English. Most meals are 50-60 thb. I would gladly eat here again. Also, all the veggies used in the dishes (except the mushrooms) are grown right next door in the garden.

Tastiest Thai food! - Edit
Amazingly tasty and fresh Thai dishes. Comprehensive menu with loads of vegan options. The staff speak English and even ask about allergies/vegetarian before you order. I ordered the coconut green curry and tofu and vegetables and it was definitely one of the best I’ve had while in South East Asia. So glad we came across it while at the Black House.

Hidden Gem! - Edit
We stumbled across this place after visiting the Baandam Museum (Black House) and I was so happy that we did!
Read moreThe food is delicious, really affordable (about 40B a dish) and super fresh. Great vegetarian and vegan options available. Even if it’s not vegan, dishes can usually be made vegan without any issues.
Approximately 90% of the food used in their dishes is grown on their own mini farm, which is on site, so if a customer orders a dish, the chef just runs into their vegetable garden and grabs what they need. Literally from farm to table in minutes! Anything that isn’t grow on site is sourced from neighbouring farmers and is checked thoroughly for freshness.
The owner (I believe) was soooo friendly and really helpful with helping us choose a couple of dishes. She made them exactly to our palettes without any fuss and a huge smile on her face the whole time. She even let us wander around her farm after we’d finished eating.
I’d also recommend buying a bag of fish food (10B) to feed the koi carp in the pond in front of the restaurant.
Would 100% go there again and would recommend to anyone and everyone visiting Chiang Mai!
Pros: Great flavours from super fresh food, Excellent service, Very affordable and good portion size

A Green Thumbs Up! - Edit
My wife and I discovered Give Green Farm House about a year ago. Since then we have returned many times, taken many of our friends there, and organized a Buddhist Day of Thanks at the restaurant. Gan, the owner, is a delightful person who is truly only concerned that the meal you eat is as tasty and healthy as possible. She only uses fresh veggies (organic when available) and always asks exactly what you want and how you want it cooked. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed with a fish pond and room to walk. One of the best places in Chiang Rai to eat vegetarian and vegan food. Ask for Gan. Her English is excellent.
