Excellent Vegan Restaurant in Padua - Edit
We went to Ginger Gi twice for dinner on a recent holiday to Italy. The food was excellent. The only criticism we have--and the sole reason for 4 stars instead of 5-- is that they need to get rid of the QR code menus!!! Any restaurant should not have QR code menus for two reasons, and they both are relevant here: 1) It is impossible to see the whole menu at once/turn pages easily which that is crucial when trying to decide among various courses and choices. 2) There is NO elegance, relaxation, or class in having to use one's smartphone. I have NO INTEREST in touching my phone at a meal and frankly, they should be banned from meals out. They ruin all sense of calm/peace.

Their menu is not easy to understand, they gave us an iPad to see it because on mobile it was just harder.
Read moreWe chose 6 small plates, everything arrived quite fast. The food was good, but not great for the price, not very creative. It felt like they want to offer many different style of dishes, instead of focusing on just one and nailing it.
The restaurant is quite outside the center and located near a road with lots of traffic, so it is not very nice to go there walking.

Read morePrice may be high but it is worth it since all the dishes are very thought out and pristinely prepared. I recommend 3 saucers (plates) to have a fulfilling meal.
The desserts are all the classics that most vegans might be missing.

Ottima idea quella di proporre piatti piccolini per consentire la degustazione di diverse portate. Sono stata con il mio ragazzo, chef😄Abbiamo preso 4 soucer ciascuno e diviso ogni portata: risultato? Non vediamo l’ora di tornare!! Tra tutti abbiamo stra-adorato il cavolo nero in saor e la millefoglie scomposta! In totale non abbiamo speso poco ma resta comunque consigliatissimo!

Read moreI like the concept of trying small servings of many things. It might work as a good place to introduce non vegans to vegan cuisine. The menu is diverse enough that everyone can definitely find something for themselves.
Here's the thing, though. If you're hungry and want to have a proper meal this is NOT the place for you. The portions are small, I would say bite-sized. You might get inspired, but not fed.
There's nothing wrong with it, although the prices are way too high. We paid slightly over 90 EUR for 3 people (9 SMALL tapas, 2 Spritz-type cocktails, 2 bottles of water, 1 espresso).
If you're hungry you will probably need 5-6 tapas which with drinks and bread might end up costing 40 EUR per person. I personally consider it a bit steep for the quality and portions offered.
To end this on a positive note the service is really kind and the atmosphere simply nice.

Il menù è molto vario, pieno di opzioni anche per gente con gusto difficili proprio come me. Il personale è gentilissimo, discreto ma sempre disponibile per un sorriso e una chiacchiera. Il cibo buonissimo e le porzioni sono perfette affinché si possa prendere tranquillamente una combinazione da quattro ed assaggiare diversi sapori. Ne vale la pena, torneremo sicuramente!

Ho portato da Gingergi due amici onnivori e sono rimasti piacevolmente colpiti dalla bontà e dalla cura dei piatti. La proprietaria, gentilissima, ha chiacchierato con noi descrivendoci i prodotti e la loro passione nel portare avanti un tipo di ristorazione ancora non semplicissimo. The food is very good, but the bill will have a bitter taste. For the price of a normal dish, you will receive a mini portion; as a result you will need to order 5 or more plates for a complete meal. The final bill is double the one of an average restaurant. If you include wine and dessert you can easily spend 40 euros per person.

Ristorante molto carino ed accogliente, con quadri storici rivisitati in maniera innovativa e geniale, il personale ci tiene alla cura dell'ospite in ogni minimo dettaglio, gentilissimi ed eleganti, che sanno come coccolare la persona. Il cibo era squisito, non ho trovato un solo piatto che non mi piacesse. Prima di uscire hanno anche offerto una crema al caffè fatta da loro.
