Tasty vegan food, not a vegan business - Edit
Ginger House seems more set up for takeout than dine in. Went by for dinner with a friend not knowing how small this place is. This is an FYI, not a criticism! They have one booth that seats 4-6 persons and a table for two. (The booth was occupied by the owner’s very cute kids.)
Read moreThe menu is quite large and everything we ordered was very tasty. I got the Lemongrass Soy Protein which came with brown rice and very flavourful miso soup, and the Salt and Pepper King Oyster Mushroom Fritters. Both tasty and generous portions. My friend got the Stir Fried Udon and Barbeque Vegan Ribs, also very good. I definitely recommend the food here.
Something to note is that they serve the food in proper dishes but use disposable plastic cups and utensils. The rice is served in disposable cardboard tubs. I’d recommend bringing your own cups and utensils if dining in, and requesting no utensils at the very least when ordering takeout or delivery. Please consider that these items will be around polluting the planet for centuries in return for a few minutes of convenience. We can’t afford to consume like this.
Also, Ginger House isn’t a vegan business as they serve dairy ice cream and use cow’s milk for beverages. Their other food is animal-free. Please skip the dairy items. Look into what the dairy industry does to the animals and planet, and the pandemic risk it poses, to understand why the dairy industry has no place in our world.

Great options! - Edit
Relatively affordable prices and yummy options! Everything on the menu is vegan with the exception of a couple desserts that are clearly labeled (to my knowledge!)
Read moreSome options are almost IDENTICAL to non-vegan counterparts! One of my favs in the area
Better for takeout—not a lot of space to sit-in and dine

Quite the dining experience. - Edit
My partner and I were so excited to go here just based off a roommates recommendation of their vegan cheesecake. When we got there the spot is so small that only has 3 tables. I got the teriyaki tofu which was made with no effort, just fried tofu with sauce in a bed of half cooked sprouts. I was very disappointed because this is what the waitress suggested. My partner in the other hand ordered the yam and pumpkin tempura and the lemongrass soy protein which were both superb haha. Our biggest gripe was the dining experience, the workers had their children running wild in the restaurant, one boy kept coming and disturbing us, kept bringing us a can of coke and insisting we drink it...he was young so we brushed it aside until he started beating his infant sister, causing an eruption of screaming in the kitchen. Overall it was very nerve wrecking to say the least. The cheesecake was great tho. Order take out is my final take.

There were so many options and I only tried three but they were pretty good. The cheapest food in New York I have found.

So happy to try out Ginger house. I got the thai iced tea, spring rolls, sweet and sour soy chunks, drunken noodles and chocolate peanut butter cake. ( I just wanted to try everything lol). EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING was delicious! Flavors were on point and the price is reasonable. My new fav spot!

My go-to - Edit
I've eaten here about 20 times in the 6 months I've lived in the neighborhood. It has an almost entirely vegan menu, and the non vegan items are noted (through seamless, maybe not elsewhere?). The crispy soy protein (appetizer) is my favorite by far.

wrong on so many levels, it is astounding! - Edit
I am not allowed to give 1 star on this website for some stupid reason. Truth is they don't even deserve that! First off, I am vegan and I go out of my way to support vegan places. BUT THIS PLACE ISN'T REALLY VEGAN because the first time I went there a few weeks ago, I saw a bottle of non vegan oyster sauce on the counter. When I asked, the waitress let me know that the cooks prepare animal derived food for themselves presumably with the same pots/pans/utensils they provide for their customers. This makes issues such as cross contamination very likely...and THIS may explain why I have a nasty stomach bug today because it is almost impossible to contaminate foods if you are cooking 100% vegan.
Read moreThe place itself is extremely dirty and uninviting. All the tables are dirty with no silverware or napkins on them. Plus there was no soap, paper towels in the bathroom and the toilet paper was on the floor soaking up the nastiness there. Beyond disgusting! It is clear that these folks stopped caring about their customers a long time ago. The food is bland too. I really hope this place closes-I hate to say that but this place is awful.
Pros: CHEAP FOOD
Cons: NOT VEGAN!, DIRTY!, DISGUSTING!

Everything you'd expect - Edit
Nothing is labeled clearly vegan, however everything is good for vegetarians. A little pricey but delicious and worth it if you want to buy out.

Excellent food... went back - Edit
Was in town for a short business trip and stopped by for a meal. Not a fancy restaurant but great food and great value. Seemed very busy with take-outs and I was the only diner at both visits.

Quiet and small but DELICIOUS! - Edit
The crispy soy protein was delicious. I ordered the sweet and sour soy protein lunch special and loved the pineapple chunks in the stir fry. My husband got the shredded delight and loved it as well. Cheap and great food, can't go wrong.
