Cozy beach side with a few veg options - Edit
Sometimes things are a bit off, like they are not sure what vegan dish is supposed to be and desserts might be extremely sugary, but it’s still a lovely place to spend your lunch or dinner at.

There's everything to like at Ginger & Jamu,. I had the falafel bowl which was huge, fresh & tasty. The Ginger & Jamu Smoothie hit the spot too.

Loved the menu - Edit
I had gado gado, but vegan (removed the egg). Really tasty! But not a large dish. Nice to see a menu where vegan and vegetarian options are clearly labeled. Also nut, wheat and gluten are marked. They even have own section for raw vegan sweets. Great place by the beach.

So disappointed - twice! - Edit
Went here for my first breakfast on the island and was excited. Wanted a smoothie bowl and asked them to make it without coconut milk, explaining I’m allergic to coconut. They said they could only swap it for sugared mylk or water and since I definitely don’t want refined sugar in my breakfast I went for the latter and asked them to just put a little. I had thought this was a healthy place, but hearing about the mylk I felt suspiciou and asked about the granola which they confirmed was made with sugar too. A little down cast I then asked to have “only fruit - nothing else” on top. Then it arrived and first thing I notice is they have put lots of nuts and seeds on (even though I asked for just fruit) and on top of that shredded coconut all over, despite me informing them of my allergy. Following, I sent it back which they seemed really annoyed by. When I got it back it wasn’t a new one, but the same on which they had taken away most of nuts, seeds and coconut but not all. I didn’t want to fight so I ate it (got a little sick due to the coconut so I wish I hadn’t) and not even the taste of the smoothie was good and it was very runny.
Read moreAfter a few days I felt like giving the place another chance and ordered pumpkin lentil salad without cheese. Had to wait quite a long time. Then, much later, when I opened the box at home I found that they had forgotten the walnuts, olives and lentils. So I basically just got some greens onion, a few (very few) pumpkin pieces and dressing. They literally forgot everything that had energy in, so obviously I ended up having to go out for another dinner seeing this became just an expensive side.
After that I didn’t come back.

Good views, food leaves much to be desired. - Edit
Food is bland. After reading reviews on here, I had the tofu scramble, hoping it would be tasty and hot the spot. It was boring and bland, and didn’t hit the spot for me, which was disappointing. It’s more on the expensive side too, for Bali.

Delicious vegan breakfast - Edit
I had the vegan tofu scrambled and my partner had the avo nice day. Honestly this has been my most favourite place to have breakfast. Good meals and good sizes. Super stoked about this place being here on the island. Also don’t be afraid to try the good karma seaweed smoothie here. You can’t taste the seaweed over the cacao and ginger and you’ll be playing a big part in supporting the local seaweed farmers.

Great place to chill out on the beach and watch the sunset. Really enjoyed the gado gado as well as the falafel bowl. Prices little expensive, didn't love the happy hour options.

Sustenance - Edit
While there were a number of vegan options on the menu, none really hit the spot. We tried the yellow dal bowl, the tempeh stir fry, the tofu teriyaki, and the tempeh rolls, and they were all just okay. The drinks weren’t great either, but as others have said, It’s a nice location from which to watch the sunset. The servers, however, were friendly and mindful of food allergies.

Lovely beach front location and friendly staff. Had lots of vegan and veggie options. I had the Moroccan tagine which was very watery and bland so I would not recommend this. Other options looked better so might give it another go!

Relaxed place by the beach - Edit
Ginger & Jamu have quite a lot of vegetarian and vegan menu options. They all sounded great. I had the falafel bowl and it was super tasty. All nicely seasoned. The falafel balls didn't seem to be the standard falafel balls as it had veg inside as well, but they were super delicious.

We returned a few times because we liked it a lot. The menu clearly specifies with options are vegan, vegetarian and GF. Eggs are free range (as opposed to most eggs from caged hens in Bali).

Good coffee and lovely view - Edit
There are a mix of price ranges across Lembongan and this place is slightly higher budget - there are cheaper options. Went here only once as I found other cheaper options but I had the avocado toast (could be made vegan with vegan cheese) and a good iced coffee. The friends I was with were not a fan of their smoothie bowl as it was a bit grainy but we did not try all the selections available.

Best option on Lembongan - Edit
My fiancé and I came back here a few times during our stay on Lembongan. Firstly, for the variety of the food available. There were enough different options to mix it up, and secondly for the great beach side location. The falafel bowl is worth getting, and the vegan burger is quite different to others I've had, so also recommended for variety.
