Not the best but good to have a vegan option - Edit
The only vegan meal available is a vegan burger, maybe upon request they could make a vegan salad as well?
Read moreNot the best burger I had but still good, I was happy to go there as other places was closed!
Pros: Open hours, Vegan burger ok

Average food - Edit
Had a vegan burger ($12 without chips, chips $3 extra) and it was pretty average. Still happy to had one since there's not a lot vegan food around.

Just ok - Edit
If you are really hungry is a good option for lunch. It wasn’t good but wasn’t bad either.

Best option out west - Edit
Had a juice with orange/carrot/beets and ginger, plus the vegan burger & chips - which now costs 13.80$ together (just burger 10.80$).
Read moreThe juice was real sweet and I don’t think all the ingredients were fresh, definitely some orange juice in there too.
The burger was delicious though.
Nice crispy veggie pattie, tasty sauce and yummy fries

Basic but yummy, cute cafe - Edit
Cute little friendly cafe with a juice bar and a simple but delicious vegan burger for $8.80 or $10.80 with fries. Quite frankly finding anything vegan in Westport is a miracle so we were stoked to find this wee gem on the way back from doing the Heaphy! They also have oat milk for coffee. Would definitely come back here on the way through!

Such a lovely place😄 - Edit
Such a cute little place! They have one vegan burger that is really basic- but super yum. The beetroot really makes it! It was actually made as the owners daughter is a vegan and wanted something to eat here, so she decided what we be in which is super cute. There is also good coffee and juices! The fries aren’t vegan though in my opinion as they are cooked in the same oil fryer as all the meat - so be wary of that if that’s something you care about. Super nice staff- we went here twice in our one night in Westport cause it’s so well priced and has a nice vibe.😄

Early 2000’s style vegan burger - Edit
The patty they use for the burger was one of the earliest available vege patties in the country, I remember eating them over ten years ago when vegan food was scarce. A surprising trip down memory lane in a very small town.

Excellent Service & Simple Vegan Burger - Edit
We stopped here on our way from Nelson to Greymouth for Lunch and were not disappointed! I was met by very enthusiastic and pleasant staff who were happy to help with! (Best service so far in NZ) They had a Vegan Burger available for $8.80 or $2.00 for a side of fries. They also had a juice bar, lots of healthy fresh juice options available, even some with broccoli & tasted amazing! Unfortunately they only had the one Vegan option, but it was well worth the price considering the location.

Cons: Only 1 Meal Vegan Option.

Oasis in a vegan food desert - Edit
There is very little vegan food on the West Coast so finding a vegan burger was a miracle. It was classic Kiwi style - beetroot, salad, veggie pattie. $2 extra for chips (so only $10.80 all up) free tomato sauce/ketchup. I’m not actually sure if anything else there was vegan, but this burger was such a godsend considering how few other options there are in this region.
Read morePros: An actual vegan option, It tasted great, Pretty cheap
Cons: Few other options, Junk food (also a pro though sometimes!), Takeaway packaging is not eco-friendly

Unexpected - Edit
We stumbled without much hope in the café after having asked every other restaurant in town if they had vegan options and having been offered at best two slices of bread and some salad in between at best.
Read moreWhat a surprise to find these lovely people, who not only had several vegetarian options on the menu but gladly offered a vegan alternative. The burger was delicious and the staff told us they used special dishes in order to avoid soaking my food with meat grease. And the meal came pretty cheap as well (13nz$ for a burger, fries and a pot of tea)
The smaller towns of New Zealand very seldom feature such places so it was lovely to have lunch in a restaurant for once. :)
Pros: Cheap, Tasty, Nice staff
Cons: Serves mostly meaty junk food
