Really good! - Edit
My boyfriend and I went for the first time, really loved it. The atmosphere was good and waiting staff attentive. You do have to ask for a vegan menu to be brought to your table. The food was delicious, focaccia to share was nice and warm, light too. I really liked the Rustica pizza! He says the broccoli and chilli penne was lovely!

The Italian Job - Edit
We were craving some Italian food and Giannis certainly did the job, where we shared the homemade focaccia bread, a quattro Stagioni pizza, penne broccoli and chilli and red wine from the full vegan menu.
Read moreWe really enjoyed the salted focaccia bread that included olives and was served with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
The penne dish was very flavourful and perfectly cooked, with a nice spicy sauce, whilst the artichoke, pine nuts, mushrooms and olives pizza toppings were delicious. The only criticism is that the crust was too crispy in places.
Interior is chic but cosy, and I loved the italian themed pictures around the restaurant that just added to the atmosphere. Staff were friendly also.
Pros: Great food, Full vegan menu, Interior, staff, vibe

Great vegan menu - Edit
A good range of vegan options for starters, pizza, pasta, and side dishes. I had the spaghetti della casa, which was so tasty and piping hot with a good variety of vegetables.

Wish I could I could give it 5 stars! The staff are so friendly and attentive, enough though it was very busy. The food is fresh and tasty. The portion size are large. We got a few starters to share. Such great value for money. Highly recommend booking.

Ooh I’m not sure, it was pretty busy. My other half booked it for us, I’m from Bristol so I’m not sure how busy it gets. When we went I did see a group get turned away though so I’d say it’s safer too to be safe ☺️

Very upset - Edit
I went here today and ordered the lemon sorbet, it came with non vegan cream on top, I only found out after tasting it, I told them I was vegan as well. I am really really upset.

Probably better out of the holiday season - Edit
This place has positive reviews, so I can only assume they struggle with the busier summer season and standards slip.
Read moreDespite the places with lovely sea views offering vegan menus, we chose Gianni's, on a back street in town, due to the reviews. We tried to book ahead but the line was engaged (5 times), so we instead tried walking in for an early meal at 6pm.
We were shown to a table and 3 menus were presented - one showing specials, the other two a folder containing the main menu, a meat menu and the drinks menus. There was a line on the main menu stating that the vegan menu should be requested. The table next to us had new customers brought to it but despite being right next to us, we couldn't get the staff's attention to request the vegan menu. Eventually someone came over asking if we were ready to order and we were finally able to request the menu.
One vegan menu was brought to us and we ordered cautiously, given that the table who came in after us already had their starter and it was huge. Depressingly, that menu stated that vegan wines were available, which is what I'd have preferred if we didn't have the beers we'd ordered in the apparent absence of vegan wines.
We ordered the foccacia with olive oil and balsamic to share.
Two plates were brought to us. They were dirty and greasy. We requested clean plates and the waiter brought two more plates that were also greasy. Clean plates were provided on the 3rd attempt.
The olive oil and balsamic are presented in bottles. These are evidently not wiped between customers as both bottles were greasy.
The foccacia arrived and was simply the worst I've had. It was dry and stodgy, perhaps made a couple of days before or perhaps even earlier and frozen. We left most of it.
The pizza was huge but the toppings had amalgamated into an emulsion-like slop, causing the thin base to taste like uncooked dough. The chips were fine, as was the basic side salad.
We didn't order dessert after the meal we'd had. The staff are mainly very young people with no-one directing them, so they spent most of the time standing in the doorways chatting. They knew to serve the food and clear the tables but they clearly have had little to no customer service training and were not checking the customers had what they needed and were happy.
This place is inexpensive and the portions are large, but rather than authentic Italian food, we were left with a sense of quantity over quality.
Pros: Full vegan menu, Inexpensive
Cons: Poor customer service , Restaurant felt grimy

Separate vegan menu - Edit
Was pleased to see a separate vegan menu. I had the quattro stagioni and it was one of the best pizzas I’ve had. The base was lovely and thin and the toppings were generous. Very filling too! Wished I’d had room for dessert as the chocolate brownie sounded lovely. The restaurant itself was lovely and the staff were very friendly

Not fully vegan but great options !!! - Edit
My boyfriend and I ate here when we were on holiday in Scarborough. We are both vegan, and weren't sure if they would cater to us as a lot of Italian restaurants don't, but they had a fully vegan menu!

Perhaps not the greatest choice (as you'd expect in a small, standard restaurant) but my vegan quattro stagioni pizza was one of the best pizzas I've eaten.
