Should be 5* - Edit
The coffee here is amazing! We actually went twice because it’s so good. The vegan sandwich and vegan BLT are also amazing. They also bake their own muffins and you can taste the quality. Was not able to rate this 5* otherwise I would have.

Cute restaurant, many vegan options! - Edit
This restaurant is very cute, cozy, and rustic. They serve breakfast and lunch (however, please note that they are closed on Saturdays!).
Read moreThe menu includes many clearly labelled vegan dishes such as bagel BLT, tempeh naan sandwich, veggie pate sandwich on local artisan bread, chili, breakfast sandwiches. I love that these vegan options all have a protein source and are made very flavorful with vegan cheese and mayo. The drinks can be made with various types of plant milk at no extra charge. I really enjoyed my almond flat white and veggie pate sandwich.
The service is friendly. The prices are reasonable. The serving sizes are perfect - filling, but not overly huge like some other breakfast/brunch places. I highly recommend this restaurant if ever you stop by Val-David.

Expensive - Edit
I had the bagel with a side salad. The salad was a few leaves of spinach and curry-flavoured popcorn. Everything tasted okay, but the wait to order was hectic, and it was really expensive compared to portion size.

Alright - Edit
The Général café has many seating places outside and it’s located just in front of the cycling path « le petit train du nord ». It’s a good place to stop for lunch while biking. The wait line to order was really long. It was also long before receiving the food. I might have been just unlucky, but it wasn’t peak hour... There a lot of vegan choices, but beware of the extras $$$ to change dairy cheese to vegan cheese. I had the vegan moroccan grilled-cheese with a side of gaspacho and it cost me 22$. That’s overpriced in my opinion. The grilled-cheese was good, but nothing amazing. Same for the gaspacho.

belle découverte ! - Edit
