When you’re in Italy you have to have gelato! Gelatoteca Suso really stands out in Venezia with its vegan ice cream options. I had the vegan chocolate and it tasted marvelously. It was absolutely delightful eating gelato here and I would love to return!

Apart from the usual fruit sorbets, they offer a maybe too dark chocolate and a wonderful rice-based amarena cherry variegato. They also offer vegan gluten-free cones (ask for them).

Got a discount (free cone) when I said I was vegan, I think the girl in the shop was vegan too, so maybe if you’re lucky you’ll get extra service😄The girl in particular knew about veganism and explained why she could not give me the extra biscut on top (contains egg) that comes with every order. The standard icecream cone is vegan.

Two of the vegan icecreams are labelled in the shop, but there are a few more listed on their website, but not labelled in the shop (accidently vegan). If you look them up online, you might have more options.

On the day that I visited there were three vegan flavours which were berry and coconut milk, dark chocolate and a berry sorbet with a dark chocolate coating on the top. These were all delicious and well worth the wait in the queue that usually forms at this store. The vegan flavours are marked as “specialty scoops” and are €2.20 per scoop. Go check it out!

We had the vegan dark chocolate on the bottom and cherry rice milk on the top. Wow!!!!! Soooooo freaking good!!!!! This is a must. Tell them you are vegan and they will let you know what is what. They have good labels also.
