Lunch & fika to go

I grabbed the daily vegan offer and the snickers cake on my way to the train. The food was delicious but waaay too greasy for my taste. The snickers was epic.😁🍫🥜

Pros: Great selection of vegan cakes, My lunch was really tasty, Generous servings

Cons: I wish they used less oil

Tasty fika in central Umeå!

If you're looking for fika in Umeå, this might be the place to be. Many of their pastries are vegan and they're clearly marked. If you get the pie, then you'll have the option of vegan vanilla cream, which is very tasty too! Definitely worth a visit!😄

Many vegan options

At least 60% of the cakes were vegan. The place is not that cozy though. But the snickerskaka tasted really good.

Child-friendly

Good vegan options for both lunch and fika. They also have a small playing area with toys, which is great if you’re visiting with children.

Vegan fika

They’ve got some good options for sweets, which are clearly marked vegan. Great central location too and outdoor seating.

Amazing for coffee and chocolate balls

The coffee and chocolate balls are amazing and highly recommended. The chocolate balls have either a coating in sugar or coconut flakes, and they are big, not too expensive and so delicious!
They offer coffee with Oatly, and they serve hot chocolate milk with Oatly as well.

You can also eat here, but I wouldn't recommend that. It's not disgusting, but it's not mind-blowing either. For what it was, it was expensive.
That being said, drop by for a coffee or a hot chocolate milk, and some sweets.

Pros: good coffee and hot chocolate milk, great chocolate balls

Cons: dinner / lunch was not worth it

Good vegan lunch and fika

We had the vegan bagel and the daily vegan lunch offer. After some previous disappointments in Umeå, all meals were good and we satisfied.

Since they have many vegan fika/cake options we felt the urge to take a fika after the food. Coffee is 10 kr if lunch has been purchased. It was hard to choose but the crumble raspberry pie with vanilla custard was great. So were the snickers square and chocolate mousse cake.

The name old library cafe is not referring to a cosy old library turned café, actually no library connection at all what I can see, so don't get fooled by that.

Pros: A few good lunch options, many vegan cakes and biscuits, reasonable prices

Cons: Where's the old library at?

Cozy, casual breakfast/lunch spot

Cozy cafe with vegan options on every section of the menu: tofu salad, breakfast bagel, hummus platter, breakfast plate (roasted veggies, bread, lentils, soy pesto), soy yogurt with granola, vegan milks, assortment of desserts. Also they do have vegan ice cream. It looks like they have a berry flavor and a lemon flavor. I had a veggie bagel and my toddler had a soy yogurt with granola and a banana. Both were excellent including my mocha made with oat milk. Highly recommend, especially for breakfast. Can be quite busy around lunch. Will definitely be back to try the other items on menu! Cozy booths to dine in!

Pros: Vegan selections across menu, Central location, Bonus points for having a basket of toys for kids

Cons: Can be busy at lunch, Good desserts but not many vegan pastries

great place

Nice and young place. Many cakes, also raw. Own lemonade. Organic as much as possible. Organic nice drinks. Te of various nice flavours. Various lunch and light dinner options, though not so many. Spinach omelet or nice salads with either cheese or tofu, etc.
Of course, as in most places in Sweden, the serving was nice.

I think this should be labelled as "vegetarian" because me I did not see any meat options.

I will go again.

Pros: organic , young, down to earth

Cons: none from my side

Valls Kafé (Gamla Bibliotekscafeét) offers several vegan options, sandwiches, supersallads, sweets and even a really good rawchocolate cake. And the staff is really kind!!
