Milkshakes were Fire - Edit
In a galaxy close, close-by, you have Galaxy Rune which is serving up some amazing vegan junk food that is out of this world good.
Read moreBack in July, my friend and I were excited to try their plant-based burgers and sides. I ordered their Mushroom Burger with a side of tots, their Mushroom Poppers, and a Cookies N Cream milkshake. Yes, it was heavy af, but it was so damn good.
Their homemade 'rune' burger was fantastic. I love it when restaurants create their own burgers instead of relying on brands, and this one certainly was up there in quality. The milkshake was also on fire as it really reminded me of that McDonald's McFlurry I used to get when I ate dairy. It was a devilish reminder that you can truly veganize most things and not compromise in taste or quality.

What location are you talking about? Google says the one in Fremont is permanently closed…I want milkshakes! 🥲

don’t bother - Edit
on their websites it states “Please order online.” however, when you go to order online it says “Online ordering not available”. so we gave them a call, of which their voicemail states to check the website and instagram for updates. having already gone through their website and receiving no concise answers, we check their instagram where we find a post that says “CLOSED for Summer Vacation. Be back Aug 3rd.” so we give them one last call with our fingers crossed aaand nothing! so unfortunately, at this point, i have no idea what is going on and am calling a quits.

We updated everywhere that we were temporarily closed. Happy Cow reverted this updated and mis-stated that we were open. We're sorry we didn't catch this sooner. Our hours are Tu-Sa, 5-8pm

Eat Soon at the Rune - Edit
I ordered the chicken club sandwich and a side of house potatoes (fries). I was surprised the sandwich came with chicken tenders because a traditional club has sliced chicken. (I later learned they use Rebellyous Foods chicken.) The fries looked more seasoned than they tasted, but they were still good.

YUM - Edit
I absolutely love this place! Their burgers are fantastic and I'm in love with their BLT. Now, let's talk about the milkshakes. OMG, the millshakes are the best.

Best Vegan Burgers! - Edit
Generally not a fan of vegan burgers, but HOLY SMOKES are these amazing. They use house made patties (I think from soy and vital wheat gluten) so the burgers don’t have the weird taste that Impossible/Beyond burgers sometimes have.
Read moreIf you like spicy food, try the Hellboy burger and grab some extra hell sauce. Every time, I think I’ll branch out and try something new, but the heart/stomach wants what the heart/stomach wants. In a similar vein, my partner is loyal to the Cowgirl burger.
Last but not least — try their cookies and cream milkshake!!! I think they make their own ice cream and it’s so dang good.
Pros: All vegan!, Homemade patties, Milkshakes

Way too sweet - Edit
I've been here twice and the only thing I'd get again is a burger. The vegan pulled pork was nauseatingly, disgustingly sweet. I've never had anything like it, and hope I never come across anything like it again. Even the onion rings had some kind of sweet seasoning that was just not good. I wouldn't recommend this place.

6 stars! A million stars! - Edit
I came from NYC, land of delicious vegan food, and this is the only place I’ve found in all of Seattle that is on the same level. It’s DELICIOUS and also somehow cheaper than everywhere else. Genuinely my favourite restaurant now. Highly recommend. Very bobs burgers-y feel to it too.

No for me - Edit
I had high hopes for Galaxy Rune based on all the reviews but after trying it, I don’t think it was “anything to write home about.” I tried the bacon cheeseburger and the patty was good but the bacon was difficult to bite through - it basically slid out of the burger. I tried to take another bite with it but it just wasn’t good. I’m not a fan of the super artificial vegan bacon. With the bacon off the burger it was good. The fries were good, but unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy the milkshake. I thought the milkshake was horrible actually.
Read moreThe cashier was helpful and we had a positive interaction with her. The space looked clean and it was nice to eat at a table outside.
I would eat here again if I needed to but I would not go out of my way to eat here.

Absolute best fries and milkshakes in Seattle - Edit
See the title. Burgers are amazing too, but take anyone here vegan or not and they will agree with me. I haven’t been here in a while because Fremont is a bit out of the way for me and the service used to be rather slow. That’s in addition to some of the sus replies the owner left folks on yelp. That said, you can tell the man is passionate about his business and Veganism with a capital V none of that plant based nonsense. Even better, the last few times I’ve been there the service has been blazing quick and they seem to be fully staffed which is a miracle to find anywhere these days. Oh, and the prices are comparable to what you’d find at Next Level Burgers despite being at least 3x as good, though if you’re looking to save some cash you can go for the chicken sandwich which is way way cheaper than you’d find elsewhere despite again being way way better!

Great burgers for lunch - Edit
The place is presented in a way that my non-vegan friend couldn't even tell that it was a vegan place. The burger was delicious. I also got some nuggets, and though an omnivore might not be as impressed with them, they were fine for me. Vegan doesn't have to imply super-healthy boring food, and Galaxy Rune is a great place to go to do a 180 on that myth by eating a deliciously greasy burger.

Server dude is the nicest guy i’ve interacted with in Seattle the 3 days i’m here. They were closed early due to a slow easter day but allowed us to order anyway. Their future was amazing, would be great if they served beer.

Thought it would be super oily after reading some reviews here but their burgers felt fairly light (for being burgers). Their vegan meat is super good, their sauces were very flavorful. I got their malt shake and it was pretty salty, but everything else was delish!

The food was nauseatingly greasy. Do they throw their burgers in a deep fryer or something? I gave it a few tries and could not understand the appeal. At least the shakes were nice.

Best vegan burger - Edit
We get Galaxy Rune bacon cheeseburgers and fries regularly. Definitely the best vegan burger I've ever had, way better than impossible or beyond. The guy who runs it makes the meat himself. Don't sleep on the fries and rune sauce either, if you like a softer fry (which I certainly do), they're super good.

OMG😲😲🔥 - Edit
The husband and I are from Kansas City which doesn't have alot of vegan spots. We've been here in Seattle for a little over a week for vacation and this one by far is on our top list. I had a patty melt and tator tots which was phenomenal and my hubby had burger and fries and let me tell ya. He didn't leave a drop. We were truly impressed. Wish we had a spot in KC. Plus loved the entire vibe of it.
