Good for PEI - Edit
We came here after Stir it Up was closed. The space is very bright and is a nice sunny place to enjoy lunch. They also have a patio. We were pleasantly surprised at how big the burgers are. Everything was good but the cauliflower bang bang is not worth getting at all compared to how great other places do cali bites. I ordered a chai latte which is on their menu and the guy working just didn’t understand?? So I just ordered a strawberry lemonade instead which is more like a fruit punch with pulp. The smoothie was good though. If I lived in Charlottetown, I’d probably frequent here.

Okay, not great - Edit
Gaia’s is okay, not great. Was excited to try it based on reviews here, but I ordered a Tofu Reuben which I had to send back because it was full of rotten avocado. The Dragon Bowl was tasty, but had lots of old wilted lettuce hidden in the bottom, and only two tiny slices of tofu on top. The service was alright, but the young girl at the front just chatted on her phone the entire time I was seated (I was the only customer at lunch time). The overall feel is very cafeteria. Not much ambiance. Nice to have a straightforward vegan menu, but would prefer a smaller menu with a few items they do really well, and a cozier environment.

Tasty, great variety! - Edit
Ate twice in our three days on PEI. Lots of variety of food, from Asian to Middle Eastern to some American style dishes. All vegetarian, and all options can be made vegan. Bread and clean space. Lots of variety, so easy to go back more than once!

Vegan/Veg - Edit
Incredibly friendly staff. She let us in before they even opened to look over the menu and take our order. They started making the food as soon as they opened at Noon time. It’s the best Vegan food in the city!

Amazing vegetarian/vegan restaurant - Edit
All vegetarian, mostly vegan. Lots of great options. Very nice ambience. Nearly perfect, but a few odd things -- such as pretty standard (i.e., not great) pita even though the chef grew up working at his mother's bakery in Lebanon. But really great overall.

Great Poutine - Edit
I loved the poutine, everything else we had was just okay.
Read moreThe bibimap was okay, but it needed to be drowned in the sauce.
The rainbow roll was decent, too much carrot imo, but I liked the peanut sauce.
I didn't care for the mushroom sandwich.
When you travel sometimes food tastes better than if you are there often.

Very good poutine - Edit
I LOVE poutine. But a good vegan one is hard to find. And a VGF good one even rarer! This is probably the second best poutine I've ever had. Good crispy fries. Tons of gravy and I think it was a cashew cheese (not 100% sure if cashew but think it was) that got a bit of melt going on.
Read moreThe rainbow rolls were good and I liked the peanut sauce.
The pulled mushroom bbq burger was very tasty and I like that they use o'dough buns for gf.
The bibimbap wasn't the most flavourful or interesting version but after being on the road for 10 days all the veggies were amazing to have!
Pros: Vegan labeled , Gf options galore , Gf options labeled

A Gem in P.E.I. - Edit
So glad we found this place. It is a vegan/vegetarian only restaurant. Very nice staff. Lots of options. The food was fresh and well cooked. I follow a gluten free diet whenever possible due to IBS and could easily have found menu items to eat there but l think they do not offer gluten free bread or buns.

Wonderful vegan/vegetarian cafe in downtown Charlottetown - Edit
We were travelling the maritimes and used happy cow to find restaurants. We were so happy that Gaia was listed. We were in town for 2 days and went there 3 times. Even went back for takeout food when we left town in case we could not find great vegan food in our next location.
Read moreIn our 3 meals there we ordered vegan flatbread, 2 different vegan bowls, vegan sushi, a vegan pho bowl and a vegan brownie. All were just delicious and fresh!
Gaia is basically a takeout restaurant with some seating for maybe 25 people. But the seating area is clean and nicely decorated and well serviced. Clean bathroom and great service too!
When we left town we asked them if they had restaurants in other cities. Sadly they do not so dont miss Gaia urban eatery if you visit Charlottetown.

Big menu! - Edit
Gaia’s is a must of you’re in Charlottetown. The restaurant opened about 5 months ago, which was a risky move during a pandemic. According to the owner they have the largest vegetarian menu in the Maritimes. I have to say, it was hard to whittle our lunch down to just two items - the jambalaya and the ramen. The food was good, although the jambalaya spicing was unusual and might be better described as a veggie stew. Dessert was vegan macarons. We will definitely eat there again if we find ourselves in PEI.

Delish! - Edit
Husband and I shared the Reuben ($13) and Vegan Poutine($12). Was shocked with how melty and realistic the cheese curds were and gravy was so good. The Reuben was full of unique flavours, with a hint of spice. We also had a cookie, definitely could taste the coconut oil but really yum 🤤 Only down side was the Reuben should have come with a side of fries, (it was 4 bucks extra) a bit pricy for just the sandwich! Overall really happy with our experience. Happy full vegans!

Delicious - Edit
My daughter and I had our first meal at Gaia’s and we were not disappointed. Between the wonderful staff and the delicious food, we were very impressed. The salads that were packaged to go looked so good and would be a great meal for those people on the go. The meal was fresh, hot and delicious. We are going to work our way through the menu.
