Classic Ice Cream for the Furniture City - Edit
Back when the rapids of Grand Rapids actually transported goods, furniture would be crafted and sail down the river throughout Michigan and beyond. These days Grand Rapids is more known for office furniture, but its past still peaks through.
Read moreIt is nice to see some places like Furniture City Creamery showcase that past and take pride in the city. Furniture City Creamery is in a great location of Cherry street with lots of bars, restaurants, and cafes within walking distance. It is in a great spot to have dessert after dinner or to savor on a midday shopping stroll.
The vegan options are limited, but appreciated. They always have at least two options. And, for a big win, the ice creams are all made in-house. The vegan mint chip is my personal favorite. All of the toppings are also clearly labeled for vegan friendliness - which is awesome.
Make sure to checkout the hidden seating area behind the store. It is down the alleyway beside the building. You can also order your ice cream from a window in the back garden. You will feel like you found a secret hideaway in Grand Rapids.

Nice sweet treat while we rested our feet - Edit
After a lot of walking throughout Grand Rapids on a hot July day, we found this place and had to try something! We had a blueberry flavored ice cream. It wasn't super indulgent or creamy in texture, but rather quite refreshing and I enjoyed it quite a lot!
