Great service and accommodation for vegans

Our server was very solicitous of my request for vegan versions of vegetarian dishes. The guac turned out to have sour cream in it and the cook checked in the back to see if they had any avocados to make fresh, vegan guac, but unfortunately they didn't and we needed to order something different. We shared three plates made vegan, and they didn't seem to be any the less for having dairy deleted. She even added an extra serving of naan to the black bean hummus because the bread it came with might have egg in it (my husband ate one bread and I ate the other). The balls of happiness (dali puri) were indeed crispy, although chewy would have been more satisfying. All that said, we didn't enjoy the food as much as I had hoped. It seemed imaginatively prepared, just not as tasty as I expected. For instance, the "deconstructed samosas" didn't have any noticeable potatoes or dough; the dish was more like a crispy salad, not the comfort food I expect when I eat samosas. I suspect the meat dishes may be more satisfying. The atmosphere is pleasant. The front side of the restaurant is fully open to the street, making dining a hybrid between indoor and outdoor.

Pros: Great service, Diligent accommodation for vegans, Pleasant atmosphere

Cons: Vegan dishes were not as tasty as expected
