Arepas & Empanadas!!

Found this place next to my intended destination, Vgrits. I was excited to see a vegan arepa option, as I have been wanting to try arepas for some time now. They also have a vegan empanada which I will try next time. Other vegan options would be their guacamole and chips as well as other items that
could be modified. The vegan arepa had sweet plantains, black beans, a generous amount of sliced avocado sprinkled with some seasoning (black pepper maybe?). It came with a side of cilantro sauce which added a wonderful flavor drizzled over everything inside the fried corn masa. The meal was reasonably priced around $10, great quality and very satisfying/filling. Located inside the Logan Street Market, it was fun to enjoy this lunch and then walk around and explore the other shops and vendors.

Pros: Fair price, Great quality , Some Vegan items clearly marked on menu

Cons: A

okay

I was looking forward to this as I never tried Venezuelan food before. It's located inside the Logan Street Market. It's right next to V-Grits! Only 2 meals specifically stated vegan on their menu. Otherwise, you need to eliminate cheese/dairy or meat from the dish. I ordered the Empanada Veggie without the cheese. He explained the sauce that came with it was not vegan. I requested a sub, like Pico e Gallo, salsa or anything he could offer. He could not. So technically, I ordered something with half of the ingredients eliminated. Okay. There was no brown rice option for the bowl dish. Arepas are round corn patties that are grilled and went well with the food offered with it.
