Nice Restaurant near Wangfujing Shopping Area

Wonderful restaurant short walk from Wangfujing Shopping District.
The Yam appetizer is very nice. Great food and very good atmosphere.
Be aware of the price before your order. Some of the dishes are quite cheap but some dishes are very expensive.
Also they seem to be an expert in tea. Some teas are very expensive.

Most of the food is vegan.
No english spoken but clear menu with pictures

Glad we made the effort to find it

Went for lunch there based on Happy Cow reviews and wasn't disappointed. We had a tofu & mushroom hotpot and mushroom dumplings. Both were delicious.

None of the waitresses spoke English, but with Google translate we were fine.

Highly recommend

Loved it

Really enjoyed eating here and can't wait to go back! We had the more affordable noodle soup dishes (at the back of the menu) which were all delicious. Also had the spinach pie once which was really good (though contains egg) but very big!

Staff seemed friendly and there was one lady that spoke English but I don't believe other staff did.

The juices seemed oddly expensive - we ended up with hot water!

Pros: Tasty food, Nice restaurant, Good price

Central diamond in the rough

This is a lovely little place, as others have mentioned. It is down a side street, Xila Hutong, close to the grassy area of Donghuangchenggan. Its central location really sets it apart; a short walk from Tiananmen, and right off of the (in)famous Wangfujing Street. Wonderfully peaceful ambiance and a great place to duck out of the chaos around that part of town.

Friendly people and great food. They don't speak English, so if you want to avoid eggs, make it clear to them. Lots of great affordable noodle dishes right next to mind-blowing 500 RMB mushroom delicacies. Be careful where you point.

Had great Sichuan noodle soup, sausage hot pot, veggie meat pancakes. Lots of interesting options for the adventurous that I haven't seen on other menus. Highly recommended, support this neat little oasis!

Pros: Delicious food, Super friendly, Central

Cons: Hard to find, Can be pricey

Tasty Tofu, nice atmosphere

Initially we coulbt find this, but if you turn left at the golden jaguar its down the first hutong, and has big English signs saying "vegan restaurant" and "vegetarian" so not too hard to find.
The food was very tasty especially the spicey tofu. The menu has English and pictures, but our server didn't speak any English, and we only know very basic Chinese. The food was well priced we spent 100Y and didn't finishes it all, we had dumplings, tofu, fries rice with fake meat, and 2 drinks, but the peanut soya milk was a bit unusual for my taste buds.
Big restaurant with bookshop inside. No seperate (scam) tourist menu, which is good.
The waiter did stand at our table while we decided what to eat, this might be part if the culture, and he wasn't pushy at all.

Pros: Non-smoking, Big portions, Well priced

Cons: Limited communication, Not clearly labelled vegan
