A great experience! - Edit
After eating at Vegetarian Tiger five times in a row, I decided to try a different restaurant. I'm so glad I picked this one. Dumplings were delicious (generous portions!), the atmosphere was lovely and the staff was very helpful despite not speaking a lot of English!

Perfect date night - Edit
We checked the reviews over Dianping (local review app) and saw this restaurant had a very high rating, after arriving and ordering some dishes we knew why. The staff is very friendly and will speak to you either in English or Chinese, the menus are also in both languages. The dishes, well, we tried three dishes and all were flavorful. So I will definitely recommend this regardless if you are vegetarian or not.

My eyes were bigger than my stomach! Great atmosphere and delicious food. Amazing presentation of the food. The spring rolls were literally smoking as the were brought out. Great attention to detail. The waiting staff spoke English and the menu was clear what items and ingredients were

Delicious food, huge menu - Edit
The menu here is really extensive, lots of vegetable dishes, fake meats, and light salad and spring rolls. Somewhat pricey, 40-80 per dish, but worth it. They have Wi-fi and a nice bathroom. Some staff speak English and some don’t, but menu has English and Mandarin.

Chic vegetarian - Edit
The Chinese name for the restaurant is 福慧慈缘, in case one needs to show to taxi or DiDi driver.
Read moreIt's very much a Buddhist style eatery, tranquility reigns.
The dining hall is quite large with a mezzanine section for more private functions and tea ceremonies.
The food is of the highest quality.
The wonton soup with mushrooms is excellent, as are the tofu dishes.
The staff are very attentive.

Great Beijing Find - Edit
This is a great choice in Beijing-probably the best price to quality ratio I’ve had here so far. Really tasty dishes like wonton soup, spinach and mushroom bingzi/pie and spicy tofu stew.

Too oily! - Edit
Service: the place is well-decorated, makes one feel like visiting an old, well-kept Chinese gathering place. The servers, especially the manager, were hospitable and attentive to details.
Read moreFood: I ordered the spinach-mushroom pancakes, fake eels, steamed veg, baked sesame bread, mushroom soup, yam and blueberry cream.
Everything was oily and my family left the restaurant having headaches; we don't cook with oil at home, so perhaps this doesn't apply to you...
The first few bites of the eels were good, but after a while they felt too sugary. I would not recommend the pancakes as they were bland and the most oily of them all. The yam cream was weird and the steamed vegetables were splashed in oil. I did like the soup though.
Price: 10/10
I desperately want to love this restaurant. The menu was extensive and I know the food was prepared with care as all of the dishes seemed so creative! I would come back again to try the seemingly less oily dishes! But for now, it's a 3-star :(. Next time, Beijing.
Pros: Super creative dishes, many many options, wonderful people, well-priced
Cons: Unhealthy (oily, sugary)

Amazing Food - Edit
The menu is huge, the food is amazing and the service is very good. Eventhough the options are endless the food comes very fast. (Honestly I have no idea how they do that!) I love to come here with friends as you can share a lot of different dishes. (You should try the lotus flower tea)

Great veg restaurant! - Edit
We had a great experience here. The service was friendly and staff spoke English and were very helpful describing items on the large menu. Note that there didn’t seem to be a sign on the front, but someone came over when we paused and asked us if we were looking for Fu Hui Ci Yuan. The food was incredible with lots of different textures and flavors. I recommend ordering adventurously. The “eel” (sweet potato) and taro balls with spun sugar were extremely memorable. The dishes were more filling than we expected so we ended up over ordering, but the staff happily packed the leftovers to go.

Mostly vegan, great interior - Edit
Lots of choices! We ordered a bit too much. Location slightly tricky to find. There is a lunch and dinner service, we only just got in at the last minute for lunch: be careful. Huge range of mock meat and veggie based dishes; not sure why this isn't marked as vegan, I couldn't see any that were non vegan. Strong Buddhist design interior, very attractive. Probably gets busy. Probably has other events. Seems to be a gift shop inside too! Great service, very attractive plating. Pretty close to main tourist spots.

Great vegan food - Edit
Really loves this restaurant with many many choices, we tried the duck pancakes, soup (ask no milk), spinach pie, dumplings, tofu Chinese sauce and all were amazing, we ordered too much so had to bring home food. All of this and two drinks cost 277Y. Would recommend, google maps has the correct address.

Excellent Buddhist vegetarian restaurant! - Edit
Everything I have had here has been absolutely delicious and we have eaten here 3 times so far. They have a great just menu with pics. There is only one thing on the menu that seems to have egg, everything else looks vegan. (They do have meat alternatives so it’s possible the is not a real egg, not sure).

Amazing dumplings - Edit
My wife and I had lunch here last week and ate WAY too much.
Read moreThe restaurant is inside a Buddhist center and the exterior of the building doesn't have any English. We walked past it a couple of times before some patrons who were leaving heard us mumbling about whether this is the restaurant and helpfully told us "yes that's the place".
Once inside you'll find a large dining room in a beautiful space. The menu is extensive and features a single dish per page (with picture). Our servers suggested marking our place with business cards so we could keep track of the dishes we wanted. Good idea.
We stuffed ourselves on dumplings and various stir fry dishes. Everything was fantastic.
One oddity: we ordered pots of tea which were elegantly served. A few minutes later the server brought over a bowl of popcorn and said that was included with the tea. I'm not sure if this is a standard practice, but it was new to us!
Pros: Huge menu, Amazing food, Staff speaks English
Cons: Pricier than other places we ate at in Beijing, A bit hard to find

Best vegan option in the area - Edit
NOTE: As mentioned by other commenters, the address given by Happy Cow is wrong but the Google Map shows the correct location - halfway down Xila Hutong, one street north of and parallel to Donganmen/Jinyu Hutong, depending on what your map calls that particular street; Xila Hutong runs between Wanfujing and Donghuanchengen South Street.
Read moreWe visited this restaurant 4 times in a week. We were enchanted by the friendly staff and the huge menu.
On our first visit we over-ordered (but still ate everything since it was all delicious). We especially recommend the fragrant beef, the eel, the jujube soy milk, the kebabs and the sausage and mushroom braised stew. This is also the only place in BJ where we found vegan Peking Duck; this dish was not spectacular, but it was an important part of the Beijing experience which we otherwise would have missed out on. The aubergine served inside an aubergine skin was 'excellently soft and pillowy' according to my partner, and deserves a special mention as our favourite dish.
The picture-per-page style of the menu does cause some choice paralysis, as it makes it very difficult to remember what you want to order. However, too much choice isn't necessarily a negative thing for a vegan in China, and was somewhat refreshing.
Also note that some dishes (e.g. the rice tofu) contain egg. Make sure to ask 'Zhège yô jīdàn ma?' ('Is there egg in this?').
If one of the staff asks you to view the temple below the restaurant, note that, although this is NOT a scam, it is quite weird, and not really a temple. Only agree to do this if you fancy spending 20 minutes nodding quietly at expensive paintings and handcream. I've seen my fill of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

Good vegan food in Beijing - Edit
The entrance is changed and doesn’t look like the pictures here. Sorry I forgot to snap a photo. It does say the name of the restaurant on the building so just look for that.
Read moreI dined alone and ordered a few menu items, dumplings, spring rolls, and the tofu with meat (ma pao tofu like). The dumplings and spring rolls were great, but the tofu tasted like they accidentally put too much salt. I love salt so for me to say this is a big deal. It was almost inedible. Presentation of the food was on point.
The dining room is surrounded by small shops. It was early on a holiday when I decided to go and was the only one in the restaurant with about 10 staff there. The staff were okay but it was a little weird in there.
Anyway, recommended if you’re in the area.
Pros: Large selection of food, Good taste, Great presentation
Cons: A little pricey for Beijing, Atmosphere can be creepy

Expensive but worth a visit - Edit
We ate here on our first day in Beijing and returned for a second visit because we loved it so much. For China it's quite expensive but we felt the food was worth the price. We had among other dishes the faux eel, meatballs, and tofu in peanut sauce. Also some little sausages that were a little too meaty for my taste. But really, every fake meat we had here could fool any carnivore.

I have been to Beijing many times over the last 6 years. I always come to this restaurant at least once a visit. The atmosphere is clean and peaceful. The staff very kind, English is spoken a little and the menu is all photos. They use a lot of mock meats which I personally love. It is a great place to try “Beijing Duck”.
